...and as any good Trekkie knows, this is the one time we are certain Kirk got fucked.

Meh, I heard he was finished in the wink of an eye....

Guys, I'd really expect computer savvy people to understand the concept of the word "reboot."

A reboot need not be a revisioning of the material. It just means starting it up from dead. Jeez.

Tony

TOS is DEAD ... :censored:

Gets a shovel and starts to dig up Scotty ... WERE GOING TO DIG YOU UP ... opps WERE GOING TO BEAM YOU UP

How many of these fucking "OMG IT'S A REBOOT!" threads do we need?

Good point.

Hey! Those are cute little fellers...even if they are in a thread about everyone's least favorite topic.

You should use those more often!

Well, that and Miramanee.

Tony

Probably the woman Claudius Marcus left for Kirk, too. (At least Claudius Marcus assumed it the next day. And, Kirk did thank him if I remember correctly.)

But, I'm off thread -- .

Thanks. :)

They're a "reboot" of a rating concept from the year 2001 - in those days we'd get a lot of topics started over and over about the same thing regarding the upcoming TV series "Enterprise" - stuff like "Wasn't Spock the first Vulcan to serve on a starship?" and that kind of thing. Someone said the repetition reminded them of the movie "Groundhog Day," so the Groundhog Alert System was born.

Who the @#$* is "Claudia Marcus?"

Carol's identical twin sister? (So NOW we know why Kirk was so serious about Carol... ahhhhh....)

Ah! Got it!

I was here back then, but I was never a big poster in the ENT forum.

Which was probably why it was so easy to talk me into modding THIS one! :p

Nah...I actually volunteered. But still, I did miss stuff like the groundhogs in the ENT forum, because I rarely went in there. Even *before* the show came on and I decided I didn't like it....which made me even less inclined to post in there.

With the exception of my stint as admin, I think the only times I ever went into ENT were to vote in the grading threads when/if I watched that week's ep...and to read Cogley's reviews.

I'll presume you're joking, such as it is, rather than simply dyslexic.

It's hard to tell, sometimes.

I'm definitely not dyslexic. However, there is no such person as "Claudia Marcus" in Star Trek. Kirk had a son, David, with CAROL Marcus.

I assumed that you simply miswrote and said "Claudia" when you meant to say "Carol." As such, I made a joke about how there must have been identical Marcus twins... and how Kirk would definitely have found that idea... appealing. ;)

Franklin was making a joke, Cary. Notice how in his initial post, Franklin identifies Claudius as "him"?

Now there are misquotes and there are misquotes, but to confuse both the name and the sex? I don't think so.

1. It wasn't me, and it wasn't miswritten.

2. The only one writing "Claudia" here is you.

3. This is the character to whom he was referring: http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Claudius_Marcus

"Bread and Circuses" -- Claudius. Not Claudia.

Drusilla was the name of the woman to whom he referred: http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Drusilla

4. Is there anything else you'd like explained, while we're at it?

I misread ONE FUCKING LINE. Comes from being... ya know... HUMAN.

I didn't get snide about it. I thought it was funny, so I made a joke about it. I didn't attack or mock the original post... just made... you know... a JOKE.

Believe it or not, I don't think I'm perfect and I make mistakes. That's what happened here. I read the line and thought it said "Claudia Marcus" instead of "Claudius Marcus" as what originally typed. GEE, I WONDER HOW THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED? I MUST BE RETARDED HUH?

You know... if you guys wanted to be COOL about it, instead of attacking me as you have, ya might've just said something like this:
"The original post said "Claudius," not "Claudia."

To which I would have responded "Oh, well... my mistake" and that would have been the end of it.

But if you guys really, really wanna be... well, CONFRONTATIONAL about it... go right ahead. (sigh)

Nobody is going to be confrontational about it. In fact, the matter will be dropped because it's not important and it's off topic.

Understood, but let me clarify because I hadn't revisited this thread in a while and was not intending such an outcome from my post.
Claudius Marcus was the name of the proconsul played by Logan Ramsey in TOS "Bread and Circuses". The night before Kirk was supposed to die, he left Kirk with a woman (essentially a slave or a prostitute), because he believed Kirk deserved one last night as a man (or words to that effect).

Again, sorry.
No play on words with Carol Marcus.
Just an off-thread smart-ass response to a previous post about times when we can be certain Kirk had sex. I didn't realize the character or the incident were so obscure or I'd have referenced the episode.

Anway. My work here is done. :)
