Reassessing Suzie Plakson

I'm already in my quarters. Thinking about Suzi. :adore:

"If you knew Suzie..."

And speaking of song lyrics, I am fortunate to have shared a convention stage with Suzie over a whole weekend. I was MC of the costume parade and numerous skits. And my anecdote about an incident after the convention was actually turned into the lyrics of a song by a band, about a year later, and released as a small-run CD. (Song: "Lead-Foot Suzie".)

Update:
Oh gosh, it's online! Justin Briggs Blues Band (aka Big Bang Theory), 1996.

Fantastic!

I rewatched Reunion last night. What a difference! Her acting was much more naturalistic and convincing here.

Let me revise my original post and speculate on what might have happened (some points already mentioned by others and myself):
1) She was younger and less experienced in The Schizoid Man and The Emissary;
2) In those earlier episodes, she tried too hard to make her characters "alien" (i.e. holding her arm at an odd angle in all scenes as Selar; using a weird accent with an occasional Irish lilt as K'Ehleyr), whereas she was more relaxed by the time of Reunion;
3) Despite the awkward Klingon speeches, Reunion was much better-written than the previous episodes;
4) Frakes was a much better director than Boles! I don't mean just with the actors, but the setups and lighting were much more immersive and striking.

Thanks to everyone for your kind input.

I seriously doubt anyone who enjoyed Susie Plakston's performances magically began hating them because of OP's insights. And we do have something resembling freedom of speech here.

And you had a choice to write this post, or not write it. As much as I may disagree with the OP's premise, I'd take his post over yours any day.

Pointless grousing much?

Truly an historic day! We have finally located the most pedantic, humorless place on the entire internet!

Wow. You had a choice to write this post or not write this post. The world is much worse off for your efforts.
Quite a lot of objection to your jaundiced opinion. Unnecessarily rude but not a direct flame. Please don’t walk so close to that line.
