Reasons why Archer is never mentioned in history

So, basically he became President. A boring, long winded politician making even worse speeches than the ones during the series. I imagine that got boring very fast. Not many funny anecdotes to tell after a century of other captains by the time of TOS alone.
 
Well, my personal theory is that in the original timeline Jonathan Archer was Captain of the U.S.S Dauntless (NX-01) and didn't do a whole lot in that capacity. He reputation grew out of events related to the Temporal Cold War and absent that, he would have been pretty much a non-entity. Of course, I also believe that TOS was what occurred "before" Henry Starling's "computer revolution" and that TOS Remastered was what happened "after".
