It's not the negative posts at all. As others have alluded to, it's the "this is crap" posts without any explanation at all of why one thinks it's crap.

I've said STID is my favorite Trek movie, ever. I can give a dozen reasons why. It's still a subjective opinion, and it doesn't suit all tastes, but the point is, if asked (and as I've done in many a thread), I can at least back up my opinion with an argument specific to things in the movie that goes beyond a feeling or a generalization.

I honestly don't think anyone has been criticized on these boards or thought less of just for not liking either or both of the new Trek movies. But strong negative opinions without an argument to back them up gets old. It's just being snarky, in my opinion.

Your first post in this thread. Just citing it. In general, the "not Trek" arguments get old without some reasoning behind them. If it didn't feel like "Star Trek", then why didn't it? Alternate realities are very real for those living in them. Is there a reason why you can't be invested in the characters just because their lives took a different turn?

the first 2 abrams movies were shit, simply not tproper rek.

The movies wereOk in a hollywood movie sense but trek it is not and a third is only compounding the crap , a fourth is taking the piss and killing any chance of a proper canon series.

My post you refer to wasn't aiming it at any specific poster. That's not proper. It's a general trend I've seen in negative posts. As a counter-example, in ST09 threads, some didn't like the movie because they thought the writing was bad. They cited examples. Some were truly bothered by the lens flairs for artistic reasons and beyond just making jokes about them. On some points, I did tend to agree. On others, I was more OK with it. Still, there was stuff there to go back and forth on. Valid give and take and respect of each other's points of view even if one is not going to convert the other.

I suspect that the thread evolved into both happy and unhappy posts and so the title was changed to reflect that...

I suppose I'll give this thread one more chance to get back on something resembling the former course. If it can keep being about the movie, we may get somewhere yet.

Since my posts have been very negative to abrams rubbish movies I think I will mention a positive.

I do love the nutrek uniforms....not in the league of the FC/ds9 ones or the original series for nostalgia but on a par with the great wrath of khan ones.

Certainly better than tng, voyager and enterprise ones

That would be my doing. I amended the title a bit to make it more generally applicable than "Reason why I am not happy" was.

You mean you did not like the negative connotations you perceived, and as a mod tampered with a members thread to suit your own agenda.

Why because obviously you did not like people listing their reasons for NOT BEING HAPPY....which was the original point.

You decided to change the thread to suit yourself, so now you can moan about people being negative.
You could not make this up.

What did I just say in this post? The other posters before you followed it, but you immediately came back with personal comments trying to pick a fight with the mod. If you have a mod complaint, take it to PM, and if that fails, after a suitable time, to MA. You don't argue it in the thread.

Your contributions to this thread have been extremely heavy on hyperbole and hostility and have garnered a negative reaction from others as a result, which has turned what was a fairly well-behaved thread up to that point into a personal grudgematch. Knock it off or you'll receive an infraction.

I fail to see what rule I may have broken.
I did not realise having the audacity to question a mod or raise the issue how a members thread can by systematically altered to suits a mods agenda is worthy of an infraction.

As for this criticism that I have garnered a negative reaction..only from those who dislike any criticism of the movie in the first place

I received private messages from other members who warned me and also told me beware of mods who would do exactly what is happening now and how any comment that dares criticize the movies will see you pounced upon,This has happened

That's an Infraction for continuing to make personal comments instead of discussing the topic of the thread and for continuing to argue a mod complaint in-thread instead of following the proper procedure and discussing it via PM.
