Reap The Whirlwind

It looks like Reap the Whirlwind is becoming heard to find again. It's not in stock on Amazon and it's not even available through Simon & Schuster's website.

Don't tell me there was another clerical error. :p

There was; this was brought up recently in another thread. And, according to David Mack, no one exists at S&S anymore after the layoffs who either can or will fix it.

Damn annoying; that book is incredible.

There are several unsold copies hanging around in bookstores around my way, so they're still out there- there is yet hope if you haven't got a copy yet! :)

Thrawn's right, it's great, so do get one if you can.

I wish I could offer a better solution than this, but all I can say is that it's still readily available in eBook form. I know, I know ... I'd prefer a paperback copy, too.

If you folks are annoyed by this, imagine how I feel...

I make the same offer here I have made elsewhere: I will gladly buy what I can at local stores and ship it to anywhere at cost. If I can find a copy nearby, I would buy it for someone.

In the alternative, I could just report finding copies. Then you could go to your local Barnes & Noble and ask for it, and when they say the warehouse is out of stock you can say, "I happen to know the store in Virginia Beach has (insert number) copies, would it be possible to get one of them shipped here?"

In the other thread I was able to give a link to Chapters.ca that had some in stock at the time, but I've just checked now and they're out (same with Amazon.ca).

I must've just made it under the wire as I ordered mine then...

I said not to tell me that. :p

Good news for Australian readers, and others if a high postage cost isn't a bother - Sydney bookstore Galaxy Bookshop has at least 1 new copy in stock and hopefully more, available from their online store.

www.galaxybooks.com.au

I snagged a copy a couple of weeks ago from them, but am pleasantly surprised to see they still have some in stock.

The site says that their online inventory is updated every 24 hours though, so hopefully this won't lead to any unfulfilled orders.

Postage to the US and non Asia-Pacific countries is unfortunately $AU21, meaning a total of AU$38, but since it's fetching that price or more on ABE Books, it's not too bad. Postage rates are here - http://www.galaxybooks.com.au/page.asp?id=glxdeliverycharges

The purchasing area of the site will seem a bit basic, but for what it's worth, I've used them several times and they're efficient and trustworthy. Galaxy and their sister shop Abbeys are among the most renowned bookstores in Australia, so it's no two-bit operation. My copy arrived in Brisbane 2 days after ordering.

Hope this helps! Such a shame it has to come to such measures though. Condolences, Mr Mack.

That may not help the non-Aussies, but it really helps me.

Thanks mate. Been thinking about starting Vanguard but knowing that I'll be paying through the nose for Book 3 was making me a bit hesitant (especially as I have the DS9 relaunch to go through). But now that I'll get Book 3 easily I'll go ahead.

Again, I saw it at New England Mobile Book Fair in Newton, MA. I will likely be there over the next couple months, so I will pick it up for a needy soul.
