Really weird Continuity error. HUGE SPOILERS!

Matt S

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
Ok, real simple: why is Spock Prime's hair now almost regular color? 4 years ago, it was super white, cause Spock of this era is old......

Either he is:

1) dying his hair
2) some serious Pon Farr is reversing his aging
3) a really odd continuity error

What the heck? That was odd....

It's not really a continuity error. I mean, you can dye your hair, and while a Vulcan wouldn't usually do so, perhaps Spock felt the need to do so for some reason of which we're not aware. To me, a continuity error would be something like having pointed ears in the first movie, and round ones in the second. Something as simple as hair color over the course of 4 years between two movies doesn't really strike me as an error.

If that were the case, Scotty would be one massive continuity error from Star Trek's one through six.

I didn't even notice that. But I was just shocked to see him in the film... didn't he state that he wasn't going to be in it?

LOL, love the responses..yeah, to me, it was a weird screw up. As far as I know, this was a surprise cameo cause I thought nimoy had said no. I mean, its like 12 seconds, but still. Nimoy is the man!!!!

I went into this thread thinking oh, oh, someone's spotted a continuity error I didn't see, and....wait, Spock's hair?

Well, as long as it doesn't get any more serious than this, we're good, I guess.

You're all missing the HUGE plot point that Spock's hair reveals. This is an earlier version of Spock and there are now three Spocks in the JJverse. Because JJ is such a greedy guts he wants to win with the most Spocks.

I'll take your two Spocks and raise you another one!

Does JJ want to confuse us into going to see the film more often? It could work... I'm going to see it again just to check old Spock's hair now! :p

Try to determine whether old Spock is younger than old Spock from STXI. It could be an attempt to change the timeline!

Perhaps it's the same phenomenon that gave Khan blue eyes and the Klingons bumpy foreheads ... some kind of cosmetic continuity conundrum that's sweeping the Galaxy.

Well, in Khan's case, I approve of every last change...including the fact that he's no longer retarded. But YMMV, of course. :p

My god.. he IS less retarded. I never thought of that!

At no point does he retardedly sacrifice himself for vengeance..

Now. He needs his Marla, who's up for that? Better chance this time around!

See, I told you! Make him less retarded, and I'll stop complaining. And if they're going to recast Marla, make her less retarded, too!
