Really interesting video about The Motion Picture

Well this video is about the Ilia Probe but interesting nonetheless, and they talk about how uncanny Persis Khambata was in her role as the first the crewmember, and then later as the probe that took her form. I love that even on the set during filming she made people uncomfortable by her acting.

I hate YouTube video titles like that. "THE ONE SCENE THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING!" seems to be the kind of crap they put on every YouTube video today.

To address the main contention of the video, I don't believe there were any scenes involving Ilia that made fans uncomfortable. If there were any scene in TMP that made fans uncomfortable, I'd say it was the two crew members being killed in the transporter.

That transporter scene disturbed the shit out of me when I was a kid, mainly on an audio level but also visually.

Meanwhile, OP started a thread about something pointless. Another day ending in ‘ay’.

Imagine watching it first run in the theater! Totally disturbing, they did something to the screams that was really creepy when played thru a theater sound system*.

Killing Sonak and the unidentified crewperson is what set up the 5 minute TrekPron scene in the shuttlepod.

I don't click on obvious AI thumbnails.

* imagine if that had been played in Sensurround! You would have felt their deaths. I saw Midway (1976) in Sensurround, it was a top notch system.

The video did have an AI thumbnail, and I think it was not the greatest video ever, but the video itself was not AI. The narrator is a real person. There are other videos on the channel where they've done live streams where you can see who the narrator is.

That's good to know. There's so much AI slop on YT that if there's an obviously AI drawn thumbnail, I don't bother watching it, 'cause odds are favorable that the whole thing is AI created. All my YT channel subs are definitely made and presented by humans.

Youtube made a very watery push a while back for human made videos but that's all gone bye bye now.
