Reality TV-your opinion?

Murder in Small Town X does look a bit more genuine, but that only dealt with a killing that had already occurred.

I still maintain that there are people out there who would willingly sign up for a show in which they really had to battle it out, and really WOULD kill each other. And given this, could such a show really exist (but with the twist I described - that no contestant knows, until it's all over, that they haven't really killed anyone)?

Kind of like The Running Man...

I love family matters, full house, you can name it. All the networks executives don't care about that anymore, I find it very sad. I hope that one day that reality shows get to be banned from television!

The mind boggles as to how someone can bash reality TV and praise shows like Full House and Family Matters in the same paragraph.

Exactly.

Obviously we couldn't actually let the contestants kill each other for real. Even we're not that bloodthirsty. That's why a real Running Man could never work - there's no way you could have it so that a contestant could think he killed someone, but it turns out the other guy isn't *really* dead (unless they took a dive). The only alternative would be to have the contestants fight, but not to the death.

Wikipedia tells us how the contestants on this show are 'eliminated':
One of the investigators would discover an important clue to the mystery, whereas the other would be "murdered" from the show as a "murder victim,"
So there are actually 10 murders [fictional]. The initial one and 9 of the amateur investigators.
