I read DS9: Warped when I was a kid. I vaguely recall some sort of animal abuse involving a turtle, and I'm pretty sure I represses the rest. That was a real WTF book, as I recall.
I just re-read Crossover, which I remember disliking the first time through (I was bored and I found it in a box, what can I say?) The scene where half of Spock's followers stage an escape attempt, and he and his fellow prisoners "stand witness" as they do it made zero sense to me. Half of the prisoners stand in a line staring at the other half, and nobody says "WTF?" As it happened, the Romulans already knew about the attempt, which Spock figures out a few seconds before it all goes down. Rather than just say out loud, "Dudes, they know", he watches half his followers get mowed down. The Romulan governor then comments about how now the other prisoners will have "learned their lesson" - which he taught by killing HALF HIS PRISONERS?!
That book had some serious, major problems.
