Good evening, Trekkers, Trekkies, Trecknecks, and Conversationalists all across the fruited plain!

So...considering J.J.'s film, which shows more and more promise every day of becoming the catylist for the restoration of Star Trek's former glory(kudos to J.J.!!!), and considering the new line of upcoming novels (not the least of which is the Romulan War Trilogy, and of course, Destiny), I've been wondering...

Whither Trek? What direction will we go from here, at least as far as the novels are concerned?

Any ideas?

I'm not even going to begin to try to guess untill after we've dealt with Destiny and it's aftermath, and the movie has come out.

I'm saying it's a stupid question; no one has any idea. We have to see what changes first before we can make any intelligent predictions.

It's like saying "I'm about to move to LA. I've never even visited the place, and I haven't looked for an apartment yet, so I don't know which area I'm going to live in. What do you think my favorite restaurant is going to be?"

Now, KNOWING WHAT WE KNOW NOW, what is your BEST guess as to where Star Trek will go?

I think Ian meant the La Brea Tar Pits, which are indeed in L.A.

Uhhmm, I think he was refering to the La Brea tar pits.

I don't remember the La Brea Tar Pits being a Bugs Bunny joke. Certainly not as much a trademark as the left toin at Albuquoique.

The 1948 cartoon "My Bunny Lies Over the Sea," where Bugs's intended goal is the La Brea Tar Pits, but he somehow winds up in Scotland instead. He realizes that he should've taken that "left toin at Alba-ker-kay" (if you're gonna do phonetic dialogue, then get your Brooklyn right, dadgummit!).

Speaking of Bugs Bunny places... Several years ago, I was shocked to discover that there actually existed a place called Walla Walla, Washington.
