Re Watched Season One

Been a while since I last saw season 2, but I thought things only got screwy after 0. The only thing that happened between 60 seconds and 0 was the Alarm getting louder.

It's going to depend on when I get more into those episodes. But I recall later one when the timer gets down under one minute all hell starts to break loose, mostly with metal pieced flying around and a ramping-upp humming/electrical sound.

After it gets to 0 the timer shows the hieroglyphs (we'll never know the answers too) and things get more and more turbulant until it imexplodes.

But the show really isn't the same without Ben.

Ben and Desmond have really changed the show to a huge degree. Juliet as well, to some extent.

I really like the 3 newcomers from season 3 but am having huge problems with the "frieghties". I just can't seem to warm to them. Granted we don't know much about them but something seems off.

I just got done re-watching Season One on DVD and I standby comments I made in an earlier thread of mine that Season One was their best season, engrossing and just damn awesome.

I agree with this statement, I quit watching lost after they showed the mysterious others as suburbanites and the annoying new kids on the block showed up only to be evicted for actors going DUI

I think that's the point. We're not supposed to really like the newcomers (with the exception of Faraday and Minkowski) as they are a threat to the island and our people and they've been very secretive so far. Plus, it appears as though they are here to capture Ben and kill everyone else.

What's to like?

I would say Faraday and Lapidus are good guys, and the rest evil. Unless they're doing a psycho-out on Miles and he's really good which is likely. I have Charlotte pegged as evil. Even Minkowski came off as really sinister over the phone, despite being so friendly to Kevin Johnson.

^ Yeah, I think it's a safe bet that Lapidus is a good guy. He's the only one who seems to have good and clear motives for being there.

Faraday seems mostly good, but clearly he knows far more than he's letting on. Miles and Charlotte seem downright evil so far--but knowing LOST, it might be just a facade.

Yes, but Minkowski also helped Desmond contact Penny and in fact, died doing so. Besides, I never got the impression from anything on the show that Minkowski was anything but what he appeared to be.

Charlotte certainly appears to have evil tendencies but I sincerly doubt she is. Now, if Miles turns out to be good, that'd be a nice twist cause right now, he certainly doesn't appear that way.

Hi..

I'm actually one of those people that had until recently never seen Lost...but on Sunday just past I picked up season 1 at the video store and am on episode 9 now.

It's good, but I'd always heard about all the freaky stuff...the hatch...the button and stuff....there's none of that yet...so I feel a tad 'bored' might be too strong. It's great storytelling...but I'm waiting for some Twilight Zone stuff!

I suggest that you keep watching. Season one is the most normal, but season two and three get much more Twilight Zoneish. The supernatural and sci fi become more important in the next two seasons.

The hatch comes into play in episode 11 (All the Cowboys Have Daddy Issues) but Season 2 is centered more around it. Season 1 is very "mundane" and that's not to say boring but to say that it is the most "normal" compared to TWZ-esque freaky stuff that occurs afterwards.

It gets crazier about halfway through the season. Season 2 kicks it up and Season 3 even moreso.

Personally, I think every season is better than the last.

For my birthday last week my wife and kids got me S1 and S3. So I've been rewatching S1 to the tune of about 3 eps a day.

Watching in this manner and not having to wait week to week shows just what poetry this show is. I thought I'd get bored but I am totally engrossed. What an awesome show.

Hey it's me Nardpuncher, 6 weeks later and all caught up to episode 8 of season 4. I'm fully enjoying the show and can now see what everyone was talking about when they speak of the 'innocence' of season 1!

Good job! Right on time for the season finale.

I love Miles, like Faraday, am ok with Lapidus and don't give a flip about Charlotte. And of course, I'm eagerly awaiting the violent death of that bastard Keamy. The newbies are fitting nicely in with my range of opinions about the existing characters. :D

So I just finished watching Raised by Another. I totally forgot about the pens not working when she went to sign the adoption papers.

Much like the two incidents of someone not being able to be shot this season.

So that's one thing about the island they had planned from the beginning!

Last night I watched Whatever the case may be. The one where the tide was coming in unusually fast and furious. The sky was cloudy and dark red that night.

Was the island moving perhaps?
