Flash Forward got the expected strong numbers for the amount of advertising it received. Not huge, but respectable and I think that'll be enough.

The usual thing is for the premiere of a hugely advertised show to suck and the ratings to fall off a cliff after big premiere numbers. But this show definitely has the potential for a strong first season - and depending on the answers they give us next spring, could evolve into a premise that can carry thru to subsequent seasons. I really don't expect a big drop-off next week.

It's solid for this year anyway. With the pathetic fall season we're getting, it's nice to see a winner. Now let's get a strong V premiere in about a month, and that'll be a basically adequate fall season.

In other news, Jay Leno continues the free fall. Good. I loathe the idea that networks can toss cheap crap into their lineup and still make a living off it. Work to impress us, you bastards! :p

Fringe is faltering badly - I gave up on that one after the premiere - is the storyline not interesting? I'd heard they were developing a mytharc for it.

There is already an arc with Fringe, not developing in full force.

How it's clear if Fox doesn't move Fringe to a better timeslot and soon the show is dead. Fucking idiots at Fox have a show by JJ Adams (who for some reason is a big name now) and they are fucknig it up (like they do so well0 by putting it on in the death slot of death slots. They might as well stick the other 20 episodes on Saturdays.

Jay Leno was the 3rd most watch show on NBC, I think Leno is starting to show a pattern of doing not quite as well as the show that was on before him. I bet if the Office had been 1 hour, Jay Leno would have done close to 6 million

Looks like the ratings for this week's The Vampire Diaries was a little better than last week's episode. The CW should be happy about that.

Can someone please tell me why do nearly 4 million people watch The Vampire Diaries ?

I cant believe it, a show that has been backed by ITV 2, is a hit for theCW, I thought that would curse it.

ITV 2 will be gloating about how they were right to drop Supernatural (idiots) for Vampire Diaries if this continues.

Don't worry about ITV2, wamdue. If CW flip flopped it into the 9 p.m. slot against Grey's, a lion's share of those little girl viewers would go bye bye. No use getting mad. It's a dumb show that gets better ratings. As someone pointed out, why does American Idol get such high ratings? How does Grey's for that matter? Talk about stupefying.

From what I hear, Fringe is committing the worst sin; it's getting dull. I can't imagine Pacey being as charismatic a lead as Duchovny was.

im mad that ITV 2 has let Supernatural ok, making the choice to go for a new show rather than Supernatual.

Its Supernatural I want to see not a new show, I have many problems with ITV, this is just one of them, does a ITV really want people to think of it, as a channel that gets rid of a good show (it did good ratings for ITV 2) for no good reason?

An interesting thing about Bones is that it's ratings stay around the decent 8-10 million range no matter where Fox moves the show. It's audience seems to stay with it no matter what.

Winners...
FlashForward, Grey’s Anatomy, Survivor: Samoa, CSI and The Mentalist

Honorable Mention...
Bones and The Office

Decent...
The Vampire Diaries

Losers...
Fringe, SNL Update, Parks & Recreation, Community, Jay Leno Show and Supernatural

Round-Up...
Fringe is a perfect example why TV Exec's are fucking idiots by moving the show opposite CSI and Greys who rule the 9pm slot with an iron fist. I have no doubts CSI and Greys will erode over the course of the next couple of weeks so Fringe could bounce back in the 6 million range but thats not enough. FOX should move FRINGE now or it will die a horrible painful death and if they want a show to compete in some way in that slot then I suggest House (but don't even think about that ).

ABC's good start to the season carries on with Flashforward though I expect a drop in coming weeks but it should be in that slot and find enough room to share with Survivor and Bones. Greys will slide again this season but I can't see it losing the night to CSI-less grissom and next week Private Practice returns to anchor the 10pm slot.

Nothing wrong over at CBS despite CSI's loss of ratings since Grissom left but huge problems for NBC. Not happy with posting its worst ratings in my lifetime last season, the Peacock network seems intent to set a new record. Apart from The Office, NOTHING is working on the once powerful must see thursday lineup.

CW only hit this season VD carries on pulling its weight but Supernatural need not worry at this rate about wether or not to continue the show into a 6th season. The show should be a better fit for Diares though with time for CSI and Greys to settle down maybe the show can return to 3 million+.

Why the hell did FOX move Fringe away from Tuesday? And what in the world made them think putting it up against both Grey's and CSI was a good idea?

An interesting thing about Bones is that it's ratings stay around the decent 8-10 million range no matter where Fox moves the show. It's audience seems to stay with it no matter what.

Yes, someone on the show even did an interview thanking the fans for finding the show even when Fox fucks with it.

The Bone fandom are a tough bunch though out of all the nights it has aired on Thursday at 8pm is the weakest normally for ratings. At least FOX never did its original plan and move it to friday nights :klingon:

Obviously Fox has something else it wants to protect and thus is reserving Tuesdays for that show. Protecting Fringe isn't a priority.

I think it's ratings will eventually perk back up once the excitement over the other premieres wears off. Interesting enough, Travis Yanan posts the final ratings over at pifeedback. Supernatural got a 1.5 in the female 18-34 demo. That's four tenths higher than episode 3 last year. That's what the CW really cares about. Supernatural's perfectly safe.
