Thought it would be cool to start a thread where we all vote on the movie with a scale from 1-10 to get a general sense of how Trek fans like the new movie! 1 is the worst and 10 is the best. Let the Voting begin!

5. While I don't deny the movie provided some entertainment, I am very hesitant to call it a good movie. Despite all the hype, it's really average. And it is overhyped. Everyone goes around calling it awesome. And yes, the opening scene with Captain Robau and the Kelvin is awesome. But after that, the movie becomes so average and un-Trek like. I want to call it STINO, Star Trek In Name Only. Honestly, Nemesis was much better.

I agree with you totally, but I gave it a 10 just because of the extreme difficulty Abrams and Co faced in restarting Star Trek. Not only did they please old fans and woo new ones, they avoided the problem of all prequels by leaving the destinies changed and open. AND they made a movie that is right up there with Star Trek II in my opinion.

So, while that too was my only real gripe, I had to give it a 10. A+, Great Job, whatever you want to call it.

They nailed their assignment.

Ya, Nemesis was not better. I gave it a 9/10, I was about to give it a 8, but it was very well done!

9 for me. I know I slated it earlier, but overall I love its positivity and energy. I was just so excited that I had to criticize it because it was incomprehensible to see a good trek movie. Was a bit like Garth when he meets Alice Cooper while I was watching it.

Loved it. For me, it's right up there with TWOK in terms of quality...and better than FC, which was my previous 2nd place holder in terms of Trek films.
