^^ It's a little known fact that a lot of shows use Gerry Anderson's puppets for cameramen.

What I really liked was how the printer jam in the middle of the gamma ray burst crisis foreshadowed the lack of bridge printers in TOS.

While everyone has been aware of Number One being a minority female for some time, I am still amazed they made her a midget. I guess it would never happen if Game of Thrones hadn't been that successful.

    Very brave and progressive.

Yes, but why did they have to use the main bridge? :klingon:

At least we finally found out what the robots were for!
I'm guessing the invention of the holodeck changed things in this regard.

I am not sure about the whole Patrick Stewart modeling thongs scene, though... It's amazing what some actors are willing to do for a lousy cameo.

True. But the Predator as head of security was a nice touch.

    There's a rumor there'll be a Space 1999 tie-in mid-season. I don't know. But lots of important people are saying that.

You thought that was bad? I couldn't keep a straight face at the communicators. No way will Blackberry still be around by then.

So episode 2 has been on, are we bothered yet about the constant references to Jar Jar Binks?

Nah. They redemed the character. Star Wars just didn't know how to use him. Plus now Star Wars has Neelix.

It does? I thought he was going to spend the rest of his life inside a rock.

That was Tosche Station, they have a in-and-out burger franchise.

In a way he's like Quint (the suicidal Q) who spent hundreds of years inside a comet. Except Neelix is doing it voluntarily. I liked the discourse of Tuvok who convinced him that the one time they should stand their ground was when they were inside the Asteroid instead of on some green planet. What a great advice!! Sounds like he really wanted to get rid of Neelix, that sly one.

I was extremely impressed that they adopted Gene Roddenberry's concept of a Love Instructor, from his Motion Picture novelisation. Having him included on all away teams is groundbreaking stuff.

I liked how they turned our expectations on end by having that old fat admiral in a catsuit and the gorgeous young female navigator in a burlap sack.
