I hate to burst your bubble, but I saw pics of this in, I believe, ''The Art of Star Trek'' over a decade ago... They're nice and interesting, but I'm not sure they're particularly rare.

I think they were in "A Vision of the Future" as well.

I prefer the prototype - a more pointy saucer and bigger warp nacelles. When I see (final) Voyager's tiny little nacelles... I can't help bit think they look atrophied. Starships shouldn't remind me of people in wheelchairs!

I posted photos of this in another thread last year myself. It was Rick Sternbach's "beefed-up runabout" concept, complete with a different hull registry. IIRC, the producers wanted him to do another design with moving parts...

I don't mind the saucer but those warp nacelles just look fugly in their downward position. If the nacelles were up it wouldn't be so bad. I'm a pretty big fan of the ship we got though.

I haven't seen these exact pics before, but I know I've seen the design before while Googling Voyager pics. I think it looks weird. It doesn't all fit together, and the warp nacelles look like skis. The final design is much sleeker and purdier.

Surprise and disappointment ensued, as I really preferred the prototype to the shovel we got.

Those nacelles seem more proportionally similar to other Starfleet ships.

D'oh! I was going to make a spoon comment, too.

I also do not like the fixed nacelles on the prototype, but the pointy saucer's kinda nice. To be honest, the only thing I feel is truly missing from the "final" design is KingDaniel's spider leg idea.
