I don't mind the saucer but those warp nacelles just look fugly in their downward position. If the nacelles were up it wouldn't be so bad. I'm a pretty big fan of the ship we got though.I prefer the prototype - a more pointy saucer and bigger warp nacelles. When I see (final) Voyager's tiny little nacelles... I can't help bit think they look atrophied. Starships shouldn't remind me of people in wheelchairs!
Back in 1995, I had read The Art of Star Trek months before I saw my first Voyager episode. I went in expecting the design I saw in the book, because it was presented there as being the real thing instead of a prototype. Surprise and disappointment ensued, as I really preferred the prototype to the shovel we got.
