Happy Anniversary (Month) Everyone!
45 Years Ago Next Week, 'Star Trek' Was Born to the World!
It took years to get to the air, doing something unheard of and receiving an order for a 2nd pilot episode. It survived a brush with cancellation to continue for a third season -- without which, we would never have seen the '79 jewels' that are the original episode reruns that kept the series alive and growing for an entire decade after it's premature termination. It survived a brief foray into animation in the mid-70s. Survived the failure-to-launch of a 4th television network and itself to be rebooted. Survived a bloated and over-budget first step into the feature film industry. Survived the death of Spock. Survived William Shatner's 1980s hair. Spun-off a new series which recaptured lightening in a bottle, which itself spun-off DS9 and VGR and ENT and more feature films and...well, you know all this.
Here we are, four-and-a-half decades later. Still looking back. Still watching. Still creating new material (even if not everyone is too keen on it, lol). Still Trekking!
Makes ya feel good inside, don't it?
Well before another 45 years pass with the way I can ramble on, lets get down to business, shall we?

My Favorites:
1st Row, Right: Captain Proton to the rescue!
3rd Row, Center: SUPER High Resolution Publicity Still of the Infamous Scream Heard 'Round the Galaxy!
5th Row, Center: Quark in a baseball cap. How the hell large must that hat have been?
6th Row, Right: This one gives me pause... cause 2 fingers (index and middle) pressed against another is something Vulcan couples do... right? Sarek and Amanda did such in 'Journey to Babel' and Saavik and teen-Spock in TSFS... well... yeah... so... why would Spock have 5 fingers with his own mother?
Oh, and I'll be doing this months UH early. For September 8th itself. It's a special edition of UH. The first ever 'theme' edition of such! Stay tuned!!
