Rare 1950-60s scifi movies

I remember seeing tv ads for the English dubbed Rodan when it was making the rounds in theaters in the late 50s. It aired on tv only a few years later. My favorite Japanese sci-fi of the era is known here as The Mysterions. I'm planning to hit the used-video store this week, and may have to look for some of the titles in this thread,

. . . Replaced was a fairly interesting exploration of the US-USSR space race entitled "Heaven's Call", where the Americans were albeit rather ugly and impatient and had to be rescued their Russian counterparts.
Actually the title of the original Soviet film, Nebo Zovyot, translates as The Heavens Call -- IOW, "outer space is calling."

Remember, the old Soviet Union was officially atheist! ;)

Don't forget Taming of the Fire

OMG! "Riders to the stars. That is what we are." Did Gene Roddenberry write those lyrics?
There was a time when it seemed like every theme song written for a movie, even sci-fi films, had to be a love ballad. And yep, some of those songs were pretty awful.

Even the title theme from Master of the World (1961) had some hokey lyrics written for it (fortunately the vocal version wasn't used in the finished film).

Any man is Master of the World
If he has wandered in the world
And found his love
And of all the secrets of the earth
He has the only treasure worth
Dreaming of
If he rules just one heart, a man is a king
It seems as though his soul has taken wing
And like the stars that fly on high above the earth
A man is Master of the World
When he is loved!

Now, what do those lyrics have to do with a story that's basically 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with an airship instead of a submarine?

That makes sense! Mistranslations are common of course.
