Rank the Pixar movies

I would rank them as follows:

1. Toy Story
2. Wall-E
3. Toy Story 2
4. The Incredibles
5. Cars
6. Ratatoulille
7. A Bug's Life
8. Monsters, Inc.
9. Finding Nemo
10. Up (haven't seen it, so it gets last place)

I haven't seen UP yet, so presumably this list would change...

1. The Incredibles
2. Finding Nemo
3. Monsters, Inc.
4. Toy Story
5. WALL-E
6. Toy Story 2
7. Ratatouille
8. Cars
9. A Bug's Life

1. Finding Nemo
2. The Incredibles
3. Ratatouille
4. WALL-E
5. Monsters Inc.
6. Up
7. Cars

I haven't seen A Bug's Life or Toy Story 1 & 2 in so long I didn't think it was fair to rate them. My guess is that both Toy Stories would be between WALL-E and Monsters Inc., and A Bug's Life would be either above or below Up.

Speaking of which, I didn't really care for that one. It wasn't bad, but it didn't grab me like I thought it would, or like the top 4 listed did.

1. Wall-E
2. The Incredibles
3. Finding Nemo
4. Toy Story

And... that's all I've seen. Odd, as I think the ones I have seen are great movies. I'll probably catch the rest on TV sometime (which is actually where I first watched The Incredibles). I probably went through some sort of phase where I didn't want to bother going out of my way to see a G-rated animated film -- I remember seeing Toy Story in theatres, then not seeing any others in the cinema until Wall-E. I was likely trying to broaden my viewing palette by seeing more adult-oriented films, overlooking the fact that Pixar actually makes some damn good movies.

I imagine I'll see Up one of these days pretty soon. The only Pixar film I don't have much interest in is Cars -- it just doesn't really appeal to me. Figures that it's one of the few they're making a sequel to. :p

Agree with you there about Cars, though it's not an awful movie and has a couple of neat scenes I find it rather forgetable. I'd rather see a sequel to the Incredibles or WALL-E (though that film felt complete to me, with my kids watching it just about daily I still find nifty little details with the film). But I guess with the merchandising potential with Cars 2 the almighty dollar rules. Even with Pixar.

I loved Cars personally. It was a great movie and had a wonderful message about life.

Cars was the first movie that killed the Pixar good luck for me. It just felt like your typical commercial studio kids movie, and none of the comedy or adventure or spectacle of the last three Pixar films which I all loved. Ratouille was alright but seemed to be more of the same. It wasn't until WALL-E and UP that I finally felt that Pixar magic again. Still waiting for Incredibles 2 though dammit! :p

Had never really thought about it, but here's my rough estimation:

1. WALL-E
2. Toy Story
3. Toy Story 2
4. The Incredibles
5. Up
6. Ratatouille
7. Monsters, Inc.
8. Cars
9. Finding Nemo
10. A Bug's Life

I have similar feelings, but the part that disappointed me most was that the movie was practically a copy of Doc Hollywood; Pixar is better than that kind of re-make / plaigarism stuff. Certainly The Incredibles has its comparisons to Fantastic Four, but Incredibles was an original story; Cars just wasn't.

I don't think "The Incredibles" is very original anymore, now that I'm aware of "Watchmen". It's basically ripping off the characters of Fantastic Four and the story of Watchmen. And I think ML's description of "Cars" (which I haven't seen) fits "The Incredibles", which I found childish and empty.

Incredibles was basically a CGI Fantastic Four movie... only done ten times better than the live action movie. So I love it for that. Also, great animation and action! A great comic book movie.

1. The Incredibles
2. Toy Story 2
3. Monsters, Inc.
4. Toy Story
5. Finding Nemo
6. Ratatouille
7. A Bug's Life
8. WALL*E (I do understand the love for this one, but the message in the movie was so heavy-handed, I felt it banged me on my head multiple times and gave me a concussion)
9. Cars (Sorry, I liked this movie a lot better when it was called Doc Hollywood)

Haven't seen Up yet.
