This is the part I didn't understand. What was the point for protocol 3 if the military guys end up dying anyways. The team knew everyone was going to die if they didn't get out of the blast zone? But It did make for an awesome 'ending'. It seems like the key was turned late, but it is possible it didn't work. I guess we will find out in '2 months'.

I'm guessing its the setting/writing styles. Alot of Canadian shows give off the same vibe to me.

Yes that did not make any sense since they would have died anyways from the blast. The jumping into their bodies was a last ditch effort by the director to get the key turned. The only flaw was he should have started with the Major first , then his men would not question him if he turned the key.

One annoying thing about Timeless is the sheer ugliness of the time machine. At least in Galactica 1980, the bikes the Galacticans rode on had an invisibility mode. This huge eye-shaped thing just sits there out in the open for everyone to see. What happens to history if someone takes a picture of it or manages to get inside?

Agree, I like Timeless, but Galactica:1980's time traveling Colonial Vipers were more impressive time machines.
I like the trailer for abc series Time After Time based on the 1979 film which was great.

Yes, they worked well as time machines, but my point was that the Galacticans' vehicles had an invisibility switch so the locals wouldn't notice them. Of course there was only so much power available, so there were a few times when the locals did see them.

Yes, the invisibility created by the Forceshield Generator on the Colonial Viper, Turbines(flying motorcycles) and on the Colonial personnel's wrist device does solve that problem seen in all other time machines. As did the Bird Of Prey in TVH in a park in San Francisco was helpful.

They do actively try to hide the time machine as best they can. Its one of the reasons there is a pilot. While it is out in the open, it is also in the middle of nowhere.

On Doctor who in the 80s(??) we saw this ship land very slowly, where the landing strut was a vertical bore, and it just burrowed into the landing area.

Haven't seen any of the others, but I like Timeless a lot. The first episode I found a bit lacking in character and plot development, but over time it's really grown on me.

The first three or so episodes feel like little more than 20 seconds of present-day exposition, the time jump and like 10 seconds of "glad you're back". Once they take the time to explain things a little better it really picks up. I like that we even get a villain with sympathetic motivations.
