RANK AND DISCUSS the Kevin Smith Movies! SNOOGANS.

^ Well my Top 4 are very close so it was hard to call, and when I first saw Clerks 2 at the cinema I didn't think that much of it. But it really improves with every viewing I find

I'm surprised to see Clerks 2 ranked so highly by so many. I don't have anything against it but what about it puts it above his other efforts? It just felt a little 'just there' to me, nothing particularly hilarious or interesting...

For me, it's because it combines the nice character moments from Chasing Amy with the wise-ass clerkiness from the first movie and Jay and Silent Bob are the perfect mixture of how they were in the first movie with the cartoons they became in J&SBSSB. Not that I hate the cartoon versions of them (in fact the movie is pretty much an adult cartoon, which I love), but I prefer this mix.

Also it has Rosario Dawson "bounce". After she taught Dante how to dance, I got the biggest crush on her.

It was the "Goodbye Horses" scene that did it for me. I mean totally totally out of the blue and when it hit, I was laughing for a good ten minutes.

I always find myself saying IZ BORING SON! When I'm out of green. Nobody knows what I am talking about, but I like saying it anyway.

I've been a fan of his since 95. This is my list.

Chasing Amy
Mallrats
Clerks
Dogma
Jay and Silent Bob
Jersey Girl
Clerks 2 (cuz it fuckin' sucks on the same level of the Star Wars prequels)

I haven't seen his latest, so I'll leave Miri off the list.

CLERKS 2 wins in the end because of the adult way Dante and Becky are forced to handle her pregnancy and the reaction Randal has in the Leonardo jail cell concerning his best friend's engagement and plans to leave his life for one he feels he is doing simply because "it's expected of him." Probably the most down-to-earth, realistic moments in a View Askewniverse movie since CHASING AMY.

That was also the big Rosario moment for me as well.:p I never really cared for her before then, and her turn in MEN IN BLACK 2 was pretty crappy all things considered. But with this movie and the quietly playful, subdued way she played Becky Scott for much of the film I became a new fan.
