Random ship stuff I've done...

Over the years I've dabble with some designing for different purposes. I was going through some of my files and Photobucket images and thought I'd share some of this stuff.

Some of you may be familiar with some of thes while for other it will be new.

Hope you like it.

My take on the two century old Valiant mentioned in TOS' "Where No Man Has Gone Before."

And the fifty year old Valiant mentioned in "A TAste Of Armageddon."

^^ Yep. he asked me permission to render it although he made some small changes. I drew this by hand (the old-fashioned way) about fifteen or so years ago.

Wow! Alot of preTOS stuff looks so much like it was cannon like if the TOS prehistory was more developed during the 70's-80's or in the Encycolpedia + your TMP destroyer is nice and the conjectural Enterprise refit :techman: :)

Great eye for detail. I don't like the old bulked up dreadnaught saucer, but what you did with the saucers of the single nacelle ships made them seem hefty without being bloated. I'd like to see them used again along with more Best of Trek art.

Still looks very good :)

As did Lennier1's work (this was the model in the early stages):

Wow, really nice stuff. I've seen some before, but many of these are new to me. That Valiant is great, and also really like the sleek aqua shuttle.
Did you paint those book covers?

Some very, very awesome stuff there. I especially enjoyed seeing the TAS shuttlecraft "brought to life". Nice interpretations of what (IMO) were not very well conceived designs. Although, I'm a big fan of TAS in general.

All of it is great work. These images in particular look like they could be screenshots from TOS. :bolian:

I really like that refit design. Here Shaw has done something similar, but working from the refit backwards, keeping a refit width saucer and retconning it back to TOS
http://www.shawcomputing.net/racerx/trek_stuff/What_If.pdf

A cross between that and yours would be nice. The actual TOS secondary hul is rather flat on the bottom, allowing you to actually stand the diamond select art asylum TOS down even without a stand if carefully done.

Your TOS/refit sec hull is the most fluid while still keeping the TOS lines

Similar in feel though pre-TOS

Great work! These are my favs^^. I especially like what you did with the Swiftsure, and with the cargo pods added it really adds some logic to the design rationale.

I really like your Farragut/Republic also; you've really captured the feel of a pre-tos era ship there! :techman:

Regarding the tas aqua shuttle concepts, which are great by the way, had you considered, or were you inspired by, the unused tas concept that's referred to in the officers manual as a "scout craft"?
http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/lcar...l/USS-Enterprise-Officers-Manual_Page_075.jpg
I was looking at that the other day and thought that it (or a variation) might have made a better aqua shuttle than the design they used?

Anywho, again great work there and I'll be looking forward to more of the same!
