Rampant conspiracy theories...East coast earthquake was an a-bomb

Apparently this idea is running rampant accross the internet, and like the 9-11 conspiracy theorists, ignores a lot of factual information, in the case of 9-11 we have specific engineering details on WHY the building's trusses failed, and why it "pancaked". With the a-bomb theory causing the 5.9 earthquake...a lack of "p-waves" is used from the data to show that it was not a natural occurrence....but even casual investigation demonstrates a-bomb tests cause P-waves as well!!!! This is all a the result of a distressing lack of rigorous examination of data, and willingness from the general public to believe in just about any heresay and nonsense from all sources...un-edited online blogs and such being the worst culprit these days. All I would ask is that people take 15 minutes to check the details first, and THAT (and Occam's razor) will almost always show the most likely scenerio very quickly.

So who here believes in or has a conspiracy agenda, real or imagined?

This is the first I've heard of it too; but for a small fee, I can make sure it never happens again.

Recently...NASA released high res images of the Moon landing sites...you might think this would end conspiracy theories about the Moon landings not happening...that's a pet peeve conspiracy of mine.:lol: I suppose once a few conspiracies of high noteprove true, people think anything is possible...the results...the OJ Simpson case, high percentage of people who think there was a 2nd gunmen who killed JFX, Obama is part of an Islamic terrorist cell, and the government keeping secret data about the end of the world in 2012.

Didn't you know? We're in a HAARP Earthquake War (HAARP can also be used to cause spacequakes. And hurricanes). Look it up if you don't believe me!
 
An A-Bomb? Really? I thought it was the "labour pains" that proceed the second coming of Christ. I guess that's what I get for reading the gospel before going to bed and then waking up to an earthquake.

I posted the recent NASA pictures of the moon landing sites on another forum and wouldn't you know there were moon landing conspiracy theorists who were all up in arms about the landing being faked.

There is still a Flat Earth Society out there so I guess there are many people who just don't want to listen to the facts.

If people beleive that the most covered media event before 9/11 was a coverup, and that that coverup has been under wraps for over 40 years even though tens of thousands of people worked on it, and none of our enemies over the past 40 years have uncovered any evidence to discredit the United States, then their not going to beleive pictures released by the very agency that has "been perpetrating that lie".

I moderate NASA TV's YouTube channel. There's no reasoning with these people. They think that they uncovered the biggest hoax ever because the flag wobbled and they blame wind...as if NASA is going to spend billions of dollars on this and they're going to let a breeze get past the editors.
 
Did anyone ever work out what would really happen if the Chinese did all jump up and down at the same time? I guess that because they're spread out over several thousand miles, you'd really need to coordinate them like the elements of a phased-array antenna. The correct phasing and you could strike anywhere on Earth. Implausible - well look at the impressive massed displays that they put on for the Beijing Olympics. Just saying...
