Rammstein - Liebe ist Fur Alle Da

Anybody else pick this up (Deluxe Edition, of course) or is it just me?

Fabulous return to form after the lacklustre Rosenrot, and easily their best album since Mutter (which it equals)

Pussy, the first single off it, is hilarious, but I think my favourite track has to be Roter Sand. If Tarantino doesn't nick that for a future movie, there's no justice in the world...

Thanks for the heads up, I don't follow music news at all anymore, so I didn't even know they had a new one out. (Just found out Weezer had a new one out too)

Listened to the single Pussy, excellent!

I'll try and get my hands on the album sooner or later.
btw I thought Rosenrot was okay, Benzin, Rosenrot and Wo Bist Du are great tracks.

I think they did Pussy just for controversies sake which is lame, it sticks out like a sore thumb on the album.

^ It's my understanding that Rammstein's entire career is done for controversy's sake. :p (Except for, say, Links 2 3 4, and yes I am entirely aware of what that song is about)

It's pretty clearly a dig at the German censors (try being a videogamer there - they're as bad as Australia!), as well as being a fun bit of light relief... Absolutely it does stick out though.

I thought it was so they could star in the video.

Who can blame them?

Its placing on the album is important as well - both as light relief after the pretty uncomfortable Wiener Blut (which mentions no names but is about the Fritzl case), and to make the listener think twice about attitudes to sex...

And no doubt to cause controversy once the censorious types figure out that they've done that!

I only knew about this new album after reading about in the news, but then bought on the release day. :)

It's not as good as Mutter or Reise, Reise but better than Rosenrot. There are only two tracks I don't really like and those are Pussy and Bückstabü. My favorite is probably Haifisch (Shark), Donaukinder and Liese (although that one is kinda disturbing, since I'm pretty sure is about the defloration of said girl Liese).

A question to all you (presumably) not german speaking folks. Do you look at translations of the lyrics?

I don't speak enough German to be able to understand Rammstein "natively" (BTW, do they ever sing in English?), so yes, I do have to look it up.

Well Pussy is in English and Amerika and Stirb nicht vor mir have some English in it. Te Quiero Puta has some Spanish, I guess, and Moskau has some Russian lyrics. But other than that it is all in German.

And what I also meant with my question, was if you look up translations or just don't care about the lyrics. I remember, when I was younger and didn't understand English good enough to understand English songs "natively", as you put it, I would just listen to the, well, music. :)

^ I do care about the lyrics, yes. If a song is in another language that I don't speak, I want to know what it's about.

My favorite for the moment is Donaukinder but I wait the show in December (I've tickets for both parisian concerts :) ) Rammstein is definitely a live event :)

I do just to know the topic of the song, I don't go into details.

The new album has a little something in French , I didn't even recognized it in the beginning

I've been a big Rammstein fan for years but was expecting nothing from this album at all. Rosenrot was, as far as I'm concerned, a Reise, Reise outtakes album and was, Wo Bist Du, Mann Gegen Mann and Zerstoren apart, pretty lacklustre.

LIFAD is incredible. A massive return to form. All the classic Rammstein motifs, from the comedy and the sex to the massive chugging riffs. Genuinely hugely impressed with the whole thing, though Mehr is a little dull. I'd personally say the best tracks are Ich Tu Der Weh, Haifisch, LIFAD and the mighty Fuhre Mich. Haifisch in particular I love, like a cross between Keine Lust and a Depeche Mode track. Brilliant.

The best moment though is when you put it on for the first time and you hear RAMM....STEEEEEIN! blast out. You know they're back and in form!

As for their lyrics... I look, but I don't tend to think about them too much. They have some killer ones though, even if they don't flow as well in English.

Speaking of English, never, ever let yourselves hear the English versions of Du Hast, Engel or Amerika. Shudder.

*Thread resurrection, sorry for that. *

I was at the 2 Parisian concerts (yesterday and the day before) and it's just wow :bolian:
I've seen a lot of concerts but nothing compared to that, don't miss them !
