Well I jokingly mused that the ship could be a fluidic space vessel... But it would have to be a late tng/ds9 vessel, me thinks.

Having a sensor dome under the neck--I never would have thought of that.

I can just see that sensor and the computer core eject straight down over some object to do a suicidal data dump into some entity.

It never really occurred to me for odd configurations like this until now, but I'm thinking that the designers probably aren't human.

At least it doesn't look like something a human designer would create. Looks like that took standard components for the saucer, but created a completely new warp drive.
