Rainn Wilson should be in Star Trek in some capacity.

Howdy!

I saw the second episode of the new (6th) season of The Office last night. It's an OK show. I mostly watch it for Rainn Wilson, who plays the insane Dwight Schrute on the show. His scream last night was classic.

I think that he would make an interesting bad guy for a movie, or an eccentric character. A Vorta perhaps? He was in "Galaxy Quest" in a minor role as one of the aliens.

I think he's be a good fit, anyone agree?
No!

Well he was the voice of the alien "Galaxar" in Monsters vs. Aliens... could be funny as a Ferengi or some other purely "played for laughs" character. A young nuTrek Harry Mudd?

He is too tall for a Ferengi.
Plus the Ferengi were almost never funny and were milked to beyond-death, even showing up in unwelcome episodes on Voyager and Enterprise. I love Wilson on The Office, but for Trek almost anything would be better than a Ferengi...ugh. Here's hoping they never show up in J.J.'s Star Trek films. Hey, there's no Ferengi smiley on here! :klingon:

He would be fun in the right role.

One stable of TOS is the beauracratic ambassador/administrator/official that has some legal loophole to override Kirk's authority, much to his annoyance.

Kirk: We're going to stay to rescue my crew.
Official: No we're not. We need to get me to my important diplomatic function.
Kirk: I have the authority to stay here for 2 hours.
Official: You have ONLY those 2 hours, and no more. My chat with fellow diplomats about mining assignment is too important to the Federation.

Rainn Wilson could play such an official brilliantly.

Nah...because then it would just be Dwight on Star Trek.
