Rain, glorious rain and a short cats tale

The God of rain (Precipitus?:)) was good to me today. I did the trek to Sainsbury and on departure of said store for 20 min trek home it started to gently rain. That really lovely soft rain, with proper drops that smells soooo great when it hits the dry land ~ I know it's only a couple of weeks since we had it and I love the sun but this was so fresh. Even the daffs and the crocuses could be seen tipping up their faces towards it as was I.

As soon as I'd plonked down the shopping the rain came in force. It waited for me to get home ~ for that I, and the flowers, honour Precipitus today:hugegrin:

The short cat's tale...

Sir Squeak was sprawled on my lap the other night whilst I was sipping Martinis and munching Pringles as one does when watching Gosford Park ;) I had paused with Pringle in mid delivery to mouth to watch exciting moment when I heard a crunch, looked down to see Squeaky raise an eye to me as if to say 'yes?' and carry on munching my pringle:guffaw:. I tell you what, you've got to give cat's their tremendous capacity for audacity. They were prawn cocktail flavour though...

Now the sun is out, I love British weather:)

My cat "Psycho" runs off with pizza-rolls and the other cat "Nutz III" is partial to egg-rolls.

Other than that they show no interest in people-foods.

Was at a relatives home several years ago when a cat leaped into a shopping bag just to check the interior out. Curiosity satisfied, the cat leaped back out, engaging a back leg through one of the handles in the process. As much as we sympathized with the frightened cat, there was no resisting laughter as the bag "pursued" the cat around the room.

 Yes The Squeak did that but got his head caught in handle of bag. You do feel guilty laughing at the time but cripes do they get their own back, as the scratches on my thighs will tell:(

My cat Torino wants a taste of anything a person is eating. He may not eat it, but by God he wants to make sure it isn't something he likes.

My cat was interested in people as food.

My appreciation of you just got through the roof. :techman:

Yes, when offered further Pringles Squeaky just licked off the flavour until the crisp was soggy enough to eat in one go. Who says we spoil our cats?

I want to be reincarnated as a cat with a doting owner.

All that sleeping, eating and getting spoiled... Yes it is a fine plan:techman:
You also get the haughty attitude, no sense of 'it's the middle of the night stop biting my toes' and all day grooming sessions. Oh and catnip for those days when you just need a little lift:lol:

I just love having my back stroked as well... I think I may have already been one in my past life, too. Missed out this time around - I must have been a ballbreaker or something... :p

K'ehleyr, I remember the rains 20 years ago in Suffolk, with the green of the hills and the smell of that fresh rain. California only gets rain part of the year, yet, maybe one time a season, I'm reminded of that British rain so long ago.(yet it seems like yesterday to my mind , my god has it really been over 20 years ago!!:wtf:)

Thanks, I'll remember the British weather fondly but will still feel glad to have a true Summers day without a single cloud in the sky..

I swear it looks greener here today ~ even the daisies have poked their heads up for the first time:). Yes, if only we had a few more true summer days the British weather would be wonderful:cool:

one of my cats used to sit on the back of the recliner and lick my hair :D
