Rage Is A Really Good Game

Early on, I was using the pistol with the monocular equipped to great success. But when started dealing with the Authority and now the Jackals, it's not working so well.

Pop rockets and sniper rifle are both very effective against those two. 100 in sniper rounds and 100 in pop rockets will let you clear any level with either of those two enemies.

edit: even on nightmare

I use wingsticks more than the machine gun. (again I'm playing on Easy) You can kill any lesser enemy with a single wingstick and half the time you get it back. The harder enemies, one wingstick will knock their helmet off the you can shoot them in the head, or wingstick them 1-2 more times to kill them.

I really love the gun / wingstick gameplay. I can fling sticks while reloading my gun. I can mow down approaching mutants with sticks then shoot any that get too close while my stick is still flying. Just always be sure to have a maxed out stick inventory whenever you start a mission! :D

I just got to the second town after Wellspring. I love how easy it is to stock up on near-infinite ammo with all the guns. I had a hard time initially because it felt like you had to scavenge for guns, but this is an ID Soft game after all. I officially dig RAGE!

Turns out I'm almost done, I have two story missions to go. So the lack of money is soon going to be a moot point.

I was looking at the Jobs Board in Subway town and according to the guide, you get 2 jugs of blueshine for one job, and nothing at all for the other two. Kind of defeats the purposes of taking a "job" wouldn't you say?

Anybody run the Stanley Express Missions? I ran the first two in Wellspring without too much trouble, but the third one was pretty much impossible for me. It wasn't like I was just missing it by a couple of seconds, it wasn't even remotely close. I haven't felt like anything else in the game has been that ridiculous and it's optional, so I just said the hell with it.

Well worrying about the money was a moot point. Beat it tonight. The final two authority missions were kind of a let down to tell you the truth.

Oh just a heads up, be sure to do everything you want to do before taking on the final mission cause there's no going back.

Now, on to Batman.

I'm entering the Jackal Valley, so I guess I have three main story missions left then?

I just learned something new. Running up to someone's face and flinging a wingstick into them will kill them, whereas from far away you throw 3 at them and they'd still be alive. Hell, when the Gearhead boss came down the stairs I basically shot like 10 sticks into him super fast and he went right down!

Hmm, looks like I've done all the side missions and it's time for the final two Authority missions. Once I start the first one it directly leads into the game's ending right? The bit about blowing the bridge and rushing inside?

Beat the game. Wow, that WAS an anti-climactic ending

Was it just me or was the Wellspring portion of the game a LOT longer than the Subway Town part? It felt like there was a lot less to do there and the world outside felt really dead. /sarcastic And I love that you don't get the bad ass gun until literally the final mission of the game. And boy, what a non-ending. I guess they're shooting for a sequel because they didn't resolve much of anything in the story.

Yeah Wellspring definitely had a lot more to do. It seemed like the game was winding down when you get to Subway town. And I would say you're right, that they're definitely setting up a sequel. Assuming it sold well enough.

Yeah when I swapped to the second disc I was like "wow! I'm only halfway through the game!", but it turned out to be more like 2/3 of the way through the game.

In the end I still think it was a really great and fun game in spite of the anti-climatic ending. I'll miss flinging wingsticks at people's faces

Did you do the job board missions in subway town? I missed them my 1st playthrough.

i noticed them right before the last Authority mission actually! i did them all.

that reminds there was ONE mission I failed at every time. where you're the sniper protecting the guy while the mutants attack. i could not hit those bastards! and the guy dies in one hit!

Yeah, that was a major pain in the ass, especially on nightmare. Ya know, there are two other sniper missions after that one..?

I'm playing what will probably be my last game until they release DLC. I have 70 sentry robots and I am going to try to play the last mission (on Hard) w/out firing a single shot...just bots. :)
