None of the Happy Days spin-offs really bothered to stay period-specific.I used to watch Laverne & Shirley reruns and I was in grade school, I never knew it took place in the 50s, I mean look at their clothing, it screams 70s! But I remember it being fun and silly.
During Laverne and Shirley 's original run, the idea of unmarried young women living on their own was unthinkable in Thailand. So when the show aired in that country, Thai audiences were told that it was about two women who had escaped from a lunatic asylum.
I'm going to need to find the episode where Laverne and Shirley we introduced on Happy Days. I remember that they were both a lot different from when they were on their own show.
They actually tried to carry those personalities into the spinoff. I don't think they made it halfway through the first season. The show ended up more like the female Odd Couple, which makes sense, since her brother exec produced both series.Yes, I remember the same. On Happy Days they were a lot more... what would probably be described as "trashy."
I really enjoyed her work, a great talent.
