Very sad news from the world of TV and radio: Geoffrey Perkins, the producer, comedy writer, and all-round talent spotter and former head of comedy at the BBC, has been killed in a road traffic accident.

His credits included The Htchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Fast Show, KYTV/Radio Active, and Father Ted, among others.

RIP Geoff :(

WHAT!?!

Oh, shit. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Geoff. One of the great men of British comedy. Sad, now. :(

BTW - nice to see you back, Zion. :D

I think you ought to know I'm feeling very depressed.

That is sad, sad, news. I knew his name from HHGG, of course, and from Father Ted , mainly. What a thing to hear.

RIP, Geoff. You had a hand in some of the best laughs of my life.

Oh no... I hadn't seen this news. A big loss to comedy, he'll be hugely missed.

:(

I remember in Rowan Atkinson's live shows, his straight man characters (usually played by Angus Deayton) were always called Geoffrey Perkins.
