Quinto on Spock and Sylar

USS Triumphant

Vice Admiral
Admiral
On Attack Of The Show, they just showed a clip from an interview where Quinto said that while both characters are formidable, that Spock would kick Sylar's ass.

Discuss.

Technically if Spock could get close enough to plant a mind meld he'd have Sylar were he wants him.

On the other hand, Heroes looks to be dying a very slow and painful death, and Star Trek is looking like a Multi Hundred Million dollar film which will get him ALOT of attention.

So yeah, Spock wins.

I'd love for Spock to kick Sylar's ass. I'm picturing the Vulcan pon farr challenge. Who's shirt would be torn?

a lot of people dont remember that spock also had jedi mind trick powers.
we see in taste of armageddon when spock tricks a guard who is on the other side of a locked door into rushing into the room because spock put into his mind that they had escaped.

jedi mind trick, meld, nerve pinch..spock
:)

just saw a new Trek trailer during Heroes, btw. I think they're really ramping up the Pine bits in these. the people I went to see the free screening with -- almost all of them said he ran away with the movie. if and when this thing becomes a hit, he's gonna be the breakout star (Quinto, as well, but Pine more, IMO).

Spock would kick Sylar's ass.
At first blush that might seem like a bold statement, what with all of Sylar's growing collection of superpowers.

But Sylar is both insane and often very stupid. He can be clever, but there's that self-defeating aspect to always trip him up, which is why he can be very doltish. Plus the insanity thing.

OTOH Spock is smarter than the entire cast of Heroes combined. I know who my quatloos are on...

Frankly, I think the more interesting question is Sylar vs Peter Petrelli. Insane vs dumb, now that's a contest. :bolian:

I'm sure a hundred slashfic have already been written. All that's needed is for some kind soul to provide the link.

the K/S ladies are gonna explode.

Where do I get my membership card? :D

Quinto may be done with Sylar.

As of the season finale, Sylar absorbed all of Nathan Petrelli's memories, and murdered him, then shapeshifting into Nathan's form.

Nathan's brother Peter knocked Sylar out, and Matt Parkman used his telepathy to (supposedly) excise all of Sylar's memories, leaving only Nathan's. There are still some signs of Sylar showing, tho', so it's possible Sylar is going to be played by Adrian Pasdar from now on.

But who would win in a fight between Spock, Sylar and Adam (his season three computer techie on 24 who had to work with both Kim AND Chloe).

Well, a phaser would vaporize Quinto. I wonder if he could stop something flying toward him at the speed of light.

yes, it was started around the early seventies when TOS went into syndication and Kirk and Spock's "bromance" (not a term in use at that time, though) came into increasing focus amidst the viewing audience. many a fanzine was born with K/S in mind. it became such a huge and roiling subculture than Gene Roddenberry himself put in a reference to it in his novelization of TMP -- effectively acknowldeging (and mocking, of course -- via Kirk's reference to it in the paragraph) the bromance.

all jokes aside, I think the tacit acknowldgment in both fandom and TPTB is that without the Kirk/Spock chemistry, there would be no Trek. Pine and Quinto -- to JJ's delight (as well as mine ;)) -- seem to have pretty sizzling onscreen chemistry as well. a good thing for nuTrek.
