Quick Take a screen capture, this won't last.

Woohoo! It might actually stay there for a little while. I don't think anything current will be making a comeback and the only other potential competition will be Transformers 2 (Release June 24) or Harry Potter (Release July 15).

I don't think any "experts" would have predicted that it would have done better than Wolverine, let alone Terminator but there it is people!

Thanks for that link...that was interesting to see the highest grossing films for each year....the only think baffling for me is the average cost of a movie ticket at $7.18...I know it's the "average"...but where in the country is it that cheap? I'm really living in the wrong city!!!!

Well some theaters do have lower priced tickets during certain parts of the day. I know some are cheaper before like 5pm, some are cheaper like from 4-6pm, some are cheaper from like 12-4pm. So if say the regular ticket price is like 9 bucks, but their 'cheaper' ticket is like 6.50/7.00 or so, then its just an average, plus you know some numbnuts will buy tickets and then not use 'em...

Trek is kickin' butt and taking names. Its 2009's Dark Knight

I actually predicted it would beat Terminator. Even thought it could get Wolverine when word started getting out that it was rather lackluster.

And there it is. T and W, lackluster. Trek decidely isn't.

It's 5$ on tuesday nights.

^^ Well this just shows how often I go to the movies...but last time I took my nephews to a kid movie ...I tried for a matinee here in Long Island and they told me there are no more matinees! Ahhh I miss the old unairconditioned, smelly, filthy dollar movie theatre....used to be all over the place they were...those 'second run' theaters....

Interesting to note that over the last 30 years listed in the yearly one, that 22 of the 30 films are fantasy/SF (including Toy Story and The Grinch). People, we nerdy SF types aren't in the minority we imagine.

I feel like Harry Potter just isn't as popular as it once was, or maybe it's just me. The last book came out already, so I don't have that burning desire to see the movies anymore. I mean, I'll see it for sure, but I'm not all hyped about it.

Well, so far I've taken my daughter to see the movie in the theaters TWICE, and I bought the beautiful symphonic soundtrack thru Amazon.

I'm sure as hell doing MY part to keep thrusters on full!

BOLDLY GO... TO THE TOP OF THE CHARTS!

Bumping this up because, it is going to end very quickly, Transformers made 60 million in one day, second highest opening ever, they will be up to Trek in no time. UP might actually get there first though. It's only about 10 million behind now.

Enjoy it while we can.

Thankfully this won't go away

Very few movies can attain an A rating

Is the "A" rating subject to change over time? Or is it pretty much set at BOM?

LOL, the town i grew up in (on Lawngeyeland) had a dollar theater (we called it "The Itch") which was next door to the firehouse. Everytime there was a fire and the sirens went off you couldnt hear the movie. I wonder if that place is still open???

Well I guess, once it comes out on DVD and Blu-ray more people might rate it.

You have to sign up to rate a movie, so I don't think it will change that much.
