Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. I am a university student doing research on fandom. I have decided to go directly to the fan in order to see what your opinions on fandom are. I would be very pleased if you could try to answer the question that maybe a question you have been asking yourselves.

As fans of the science fiction genre, where do you see yourselves in 10 or 20 years in terms of still being a fan? Where do you see the future of science fiction fandom heading?

It is ok to talk about your favourite programme in particular)

Thank you very much for your time, regards, Daniel.

I wouldn't really consider myself a fan of the sci fi genre, per se. Only the GOOD sci fi. There's a lot of crappy sci fi out there (see: almost anything on the 'Sci Fi Channel'). Assuming someone is a science fiction fan just because they like Star Trek is kind of like stereotyping. Don't get me wrong, I do love good sci fi, both on screen and in literature, but that doesn't mean I'll watch any show with a space ship in it.

As far as where I see myself as a fan in 10 or 20 years: my tastes haven't changed much since I was a teenager and I'm 26 now, so i imagine I'll still be watching star trek when i'm 50.

Hope this helps you out.
