If they did a Pike show I would rather see him during his time on Talo's. Imagine the fun you could have on a alien planet that is mysterious and anything you can imagine can come true. You could explore the Talosians in more depth and Pike would want to help the other aliens they had enslaved. He would have a partner and love interest in Vina. He would have times when he deals with the real life realities of his disability. Same with Vina. It would be kind "Matrix" like as well or a Trek version of "The Matrix." Also just because the Federation never goes back it doesn't mean other aliens might not visit the planet. Perhaps this planet is destined to someday become that alien group that trains Gary Seven.
