question to interior designers

i'm new to this board, just wondering are there any users here that have created interiors that are available for download so one can explore them?

i've seen far too many failed mods for elite force 1 & 2, not to mention mods for source engine and cryengine that never were.

if anyone's made interiors for elite force or other games / engines and has shared them or is up for sharing them, can we create a list?

i've lurked on this board for some time and drooled over images of bridges, corridors, hatches, engine rooms and so on but have yet to see anyone post some for download, unless i missed them.

I feel your pain. There are a lot of incredible projects on here (and on other sites) but the vast majority are unreleased.

There are 4 things I've played, let me see if I can find the links for them.

These 4 are for the Oculus Rift but I'm fairly certain you can play them in normal display mode :-
- Voyager Bridge - http://stv.re/star-trek-voyager-bridge/
- TOS Enterprise - https://share.oculus.com/app/the-bridge-of-the-enterprise
- Enterpride D Bridge and Engine Room (the engine room is amazing) - http://www.virtualrealityreviewer.com/enterprise-ncc-1701-d-bridge-engineering/

- Bonus! Here's me trying 3 of the above demos with my Oculus Rift, to give you an idea of what they're like - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THvLIiyDDhw

This next one I found on an obscure german website a few years back. Some dude had used a custom engine to recreate massive portions of the Enterprise D interiors. The engine is showing its age, but all in all I found this incredibly impressive for just one guys work! There are 2 archives for some reason, some of the same content in both but some different.

I haven't bothered prepping any of it for release, but I do still have all of the interior work I've done (look through my post history on this site to give you an idea) for the Valve Source Engine, Unreal Engine and a bit in CryEngine that I've worked on over the years if you want me to zip them up and send the link over. There are plenty of editable source files as well as packaged maps ready to play, but like I say, it's all VERY unfinished. let me know if you're interested.

the oculus demos are cool but it's a shame you can't switch to normal view you are forced to have two screens even if you have no vr device.

couldn't get those drop box demos to work, guess they are too old and don't work on windows 8 / newer systems :(

pretty cool, was that a free thing or did you buy it?

Free. The website I found had both of these downloads available as like an alpha release for a full game which it looks like he gave up on.

I've got Windows 8.1 one here running on x64. When I launched them yesterday they didn't run but I got a popup come up saying I needed to install DirectPlay which looks to be some Windows extra file, so I went ahead and installed that and they booted up fine. Maybe you just need to install that? :-)
