Question for Mike/Rick about the conjectural Starfleet ship classes

Hi guys,

I understand that during the run of TNG and the subsequent publication of the Star Trek: Encyclopedia, there were about 20 "conjectural" vessel classes that were concocted, such as the Renaissance, Bradbury and Andromeda, in an effort to show that Starfleet had many more classes of ships than what could be realistically shown on screen. A few questions for ya:

1. Were there ever any design sketches drawn up for any of these classes, with the intention that a filming model would be built, but then was axed for budgetary reasons? (I know that there were two TNG-era ship designs submitted for the Lakota before it was decided to reuse the Enterprise-B, but I don't know if they would have been given one of the conjectural class designations)

2. If TNG Remastered would have ever happened, would there have been any plans to show some of these ships in an episode that one or more of them were featured in but not seen (i.e. "Redemption")?

3. Or were there simply no designs at all associated with these classes, and I'm being too anal about this? :)
