Question About Warpath *Spoilers*

I got kinda confused when I got the end of Warpath... probably because I didn't get enough sleep last night, but anyways... Is Kira that kills the Intendant the Mirror Iliana Ghemor or is she the real Iliana Ghemor?? Or is that something we will figure out in Fearful Symmetry??

Re: Question About Warpath

I believe our Iliana is the one that's going around murdering and killing people with Kira's face, and the Mirror Iliana is the one who's been trying to stop her and still looks Cardassian.

Thank you for not putting that you are giving out spoilers in the thread topic. Some people have yet to read Warpath.

Re: Question About Warpath

^ Fortunately, one can stop reading after the first sentence, which explicitely states that the question deals with the end of the novel.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Re: Question About Warpath

Sadly, that's not the way our eyes work. It's entirely possible for the first thing to read on the page to be "Kira kills the intendant," especially how it's front-and-center if you look at the top of the page.

It's not on my screen. That line in fact wraps around and is split between lines.

The point being that something like that is completely dependent on your personal settings, browser width, screen width, etc.

Also that line specifically isn't at all a spoiler. I'd go into why it isn't, but then that'd be a spoiler, which you are obviously trying to avoid.

Those people shouldn't be clicking through on threads titled "Question About Warpath" then, should they?

Honestly, after a year and a half, the obsessive spoilerphobe has to take a little responsibility for themselves, instead of expecting the rest of the world to protect them from nasty evil plot points.

All it takes is ONE word in the topic and all is set. It's not that hard really. Look at all the people we get that come in asking for book recommendations or say they have not read Trek in a long time. Just because a book is a 1.5 years old does not mean everyone has read it. Is it that hard to put the word SPOILERS in the topic?

Re: Question About Warpath

^ Sorry, I just assumed that people would know this post had spoilers from the title. However, I just put *Spoilers* in the title to give an extra warning (I hate spoilers too).

Re: Question About Warpath

Yeah, but then where do you draw the line?

I'm sorry but you pretty much have to be aware of the possibilites of spoilers anytime you enter a thread with a specific books's title in the name. IMO it's almost impossible not to post something someone might consider a spoiler when talking about a book.

Let me ask one question before we get back on topic: What were your expectations for a thread of a book that you haven't read which came out a year and a half ago?

Re: Question About Warpath

EMH beat me to it, I feel exactly the same way. If you're upset about spoiler info, what are you doing reading a thread on a book you don't want to know the ending too? Yeah, it's better if the poster put spoiler in the thread but I for one just don't read threads on books I haven't read where I'm concerned about spoiler info. In scanning over this thread maybe I guess I could be accused of jumping on the bandwagon here but I don't care, some comments just annoy me.

Re: Question About Warpath

I don't know exactly where the line is or should be drawn, but a year is definitely sufficient time to find, pay for, and read a book if you've got interest in it, no matter what region you're in.

William Leisner's post about taking personal responsibility is spot on. I don't want to be spoiled for The Sky's the Limit, so I'm not clicking on any threads that mention it or something obviously related to it in the title until I read it.

Re: Question About Warpath

I didn't read the Q&A thread until I read the book. Regardless of whether every post is "Great Job!" or an actual question, I'm not going to have it "ruined" for me.
