Question about Trip's death

Status
Not open for further replies.
Connor in interviews indicated he was okay with Trip's death and talked about how humbled he was to have an entire episode devoted to his character. I think the actor got it.

Yea I find that intresting thing to say!!

He has said in interviews that he was humbled that they chose the final episode around his characters, but he has then stated numerous times that he thought the death was contrived. That Trip had gotten out of situations worse than that and it was ridiculous that all the character could think of in this episode was to 'blow himself up'. In fact he and Jolene were so annoyed by the last episode and how it was written, that they both boycotted the wrap party. Yep definately sounds to me like the actor got it:techman:

I find the transformers interview really intresting at how he looks at the demise of the show and his character but see didn't know that he and Jolene didn't show up at the wrap party. I know she was annoyed read that on some boards. Always intresting to hear things what fans of the show who were there from beginning can give feedback to stuff.

So he said in interviews, he thought it was fine and in conventions that it was contrived? Why would he tell one audience one thing and another audience another thing?

This is incorrect. Boycotting the party means, "I hate what's happened and I won't show up." That's not what happened with Jolene and I doubt Connor would have so little class to do something so stupid. I personally think better of the actor than that.

I know she [Jolene] was annoyed read that on some boards.
Jolene was annoyed about a lot of things -- and let's be accurate. She was mostly upset her character got demoted from Vulcan to "hot babe." She didn't like T'Pol's relationship with Tucker, thought the writers tried to pair her up with too many of the crew, didn't appreciate that T'Pol didn't do very many Vulcan things and didn't like how emotional T'Pol was in the end. *That's* why she was upset. More over, she was upset that TNG actors took up so much screen time in the last show. And she was upset, because it seemed like she enjoyed many of her acting buddies. In fact, apparently, she had a very hard time getting through the scene where T'Pol and Archer hug.

Jolene was always consistent and very vocal about what she liked and didn't like about the show, even trying to add some Vulcanness back into T'Pol in season 3 (slanted eyebrows) because she felt like her character was lost.

Can you give me a link where he has actually said in an interview, Yes, I was fine and okay with the way they killed off Trip in the finally episode? I don't recall any interview where he has actually said this.
I do have numerous video interviews where he says that it was contrived and riduculous.

No it isn't incorrect about both Connor and Jo boycotting the wrap party. It was actually confirmed online here by Morpheous himself.

I recall CT was in Vancouver filming SGA.JB missed due to health issues.

Actually he was in France on a second honeymoon with his wife, where they were celebrating their second wedding anniversary.

I don't recall what reason was given with regards to Jolene, just what was said from Morph on this board who was a very reliable insider at Paramount. I'm almost certain he didn't say she didn't attend because of ill health.

I don't mean fine he thinks more a compliment to his character or something like that; cause second half of the show was all about Trips death; and its the transformers interview or that con that Dominic and Connor will be attending think he did interview during Sea Trek; I just found it intresting what he has to say about the cancellation cause he is correct; and how he viewed Trips death etc. Like I said trying to remember what he said but can't put exactly into words what he said and I watch that first part cause like I said he talks about why show was cancelled and why they killed Trip off.

This thread clearly has nothing further to offer on the subject of Trip's death, aside from petty bickering.
