Question about 'Tomorrow Is Yesterday'

It's notable that the international version of "The Outside Man," which has an extra ten minutes including that particular footage (which was edited out of the posts above), is the one that's currently sold on DVD in the US with a PG label. There have been a couple other similar instances with older movies, such as 1982's "Swamp Thing" on DVD with a PG label even though it was actually an extended version including decidedly non-PG footage of the lead actress (but pulled from distribution when somebody noticed). And, um, I only know this stuff because I happen to be interested in issues surrounding international movie distribution in that time period. 
Anyway, how about those appearances of TOS footage being played in movies, huh?

Lest this thread and its original topic fade away to obscurity, I would like to point out that in the new movie X-Men: Apocalypse, which takes place in 1983, there is a scene in which

a TV is showing "Who Mourns for Adonais," which is fitting as that scene in X-Men:A features the main antagonist, a powerful self-proclaimed god.

Well remember - in the previous X-men film (Days of Future Past) hank had "The Naked Time" playing on a TV in the background (the scene where they've engaged the engines and are warping back in time. If we get "The Dark Phoenix Saga" in the third film - they'll probably use "The Changeling" opening (the scene with the Warp 15 Plasma Bolts.)
They've already butchered the Dark Phoenix plenty.
Same goes for the movie "Paul" with Simon Pegg. First we see a clip on a screen when they are at Comic Con, and later they act it out at the Rocks.
I had no idea this was a double reference.
