Question about the USS Defiant and the mirror universe.

I had a question about the USS Defiant that has been used in a few episodes of Star Trek set inside the mirror universe.

It has appeared in Enterprise, TOS, and was mentioned but not shown in Discovery.

Here's the thing. Wouldn't Starfleet have records of this event and the ship from the time Archer crossed over into the mirror universe?

At least this is what I had imagined, that maybe the crew on Discovery could have looked up the ships computer records and found this information.

It's actually kind of neat how Discovery handled people in Prime finding about Defiant, in that they knew in their future it would go back in time to Mirror, but the people with the knowledge ended up in the 31st century, so it didn't matter anyway.
It's a little wild to me the influence ships named Defiant had on the MU and how that works in-universe and out of universe.
You probably know this but just in case, they had thought about having Defiant originally turning up in Prime in Season 2 in "Future Tense."

I think I did read that somewhere. I am actually happy with what they actually did do with that episode.

I mean, several months go by after they return to the Prime Universe but before they travel to the future. I'm sure they reported the matter to Starfleet at some point. At the very least, Georgiou likely mentioned to Section 31 when she was working with them.

Probably because every other Mirror episode features crossovers. ENT was the only time a story was told entirely in-universe.
Which I really liked because it's through the interpretations from the monsters perspective. The possessors of the Defiant could erase any records that existed and write their own history as they like it to be. I'm not sure they had the wherewithal to keep the maintenance of that super vessel.

I feel like "Yesterday's Enterprise" and "Living Witness" especially were there MU/AU type stories. I love how "Living Witness" starts one way and then changes into something much deeper.
The Mirror Universe would have made a fun Arrowverse style crossover in the 90s with DS9/VOY/TNG and even TOS people. Prime DS9 people team up with Mirror DS9/Voyager people to fight Mirror Worf and Mirror B'Elanna, and then Mirror Riker and Mirror Geordi show up to ruin everyone's day as the heralds of Emperor Tiberius.

In Cornwell's debrief after they get back, she mentions that all records of the alternate universe will be classified and destroyed. As for the crew of the Defiant in a decade, the official position seems to be "sucks to be them."
