Question about the new movie

Hello everyone newbie here.
Im so hyped about the new movie.
Only have one question.

Is it 100% verified fact that Mr. Nimoy will play " old " Spock?.

It is 100% verified that he will play an 'older' Spock yes. Beyond that little about his role has been revealed, but he is definately playing 'a' Spock.

Welcome to the board. It has been established so far that the film plot has something to do with Time Travel and the Romulan Empire!. Presumably we can guess that this is how nimoy and thus old spock will become involved in the plot as he was on the romulan homeworld last we heard.

Actually time travel and Romulans have been widely rumored to be part of this movie, but I don't think it's been officially established yet about the Romulans. Time travel has not been confirmed, but it seems to be the most likely scenario, being that we'll have an Old Spock and Younger Spock, and Nimoy's supposed to have a "meaty" role. It's hard to imagine a "meaty" role for Nimoy consisting of him telling someone a story of the old days, hence all the time travel speculation. There have also been a rumored scene from the movie script that puts Nimoy and Quinto together.

Oh did he? I could have sworn I saw an interview where he refused to acknowledge whether or not time travel was going to be used. He only said IF it were going to be used, it would be in an original way, not with the Guardian of Forever. I can't recall where I read it though, so I could very well be mistaken, or maybe he has since acknowledged it as I thought his denial was rather weak in the first place.

Edit: Aha! I wasn't just imagining things. Here's the interview:

Asked if there is time travel involved in the plot, Orci said "Who knows ? [laughs] Who knows if there is time travel involved. But if there is, it is original."

So was there a later interview in which he did just come out and say it? I just didn't remember hearing that.

Edit: Hmm... I checked out the article and I think the phrasing on that is very misleading. I watched the video where TrekBBS got the quote from and Orci once again plays coy with the notion of there being time travel or not. The TrekBBS quote seems to be taken out of context giving you the wrong idea that he's actually confirming time travel when he actually doesn't in that video. Here's the link:

All that said and done I have little doubt there is time travel, but it seems like they'll be denying just about EVERYTHING for as long as possible.
