Quark: The Animated Series

Does anyone know anything about a proposed 2000s animated series starring Quark? It was apparently shopped to MTV but they passed. Who was on the writing team?

I think at Rom at least. It might have been Quark and Rom as children?

That would have been a good series that I would have watched as I always liked the Ferengi and seeing more of Quark is a plus .

Animated Ferengi series
Around 2000 or 2001, Armin Shimerman and a friend of his devised an idea for an animated series about the teenage years in the lifetimes of the Ferengi Quark and Rom. "We got pretty far with that," stated Shimerman, "but in the end, when we got to the last pitch session with MTV, they said they didn't want a space cartoon show. But everyone was very happy with the ideas that we had come up with." (Star Trek Explorer, Vol. 4, No. 4, p. 11)

That really seems to be the only thing ever mentioned by anyone who was connected with the project. If somebody has a copy of that cited issue of Star Trek Explorer, maybe they can see if there were any other details.
