Spoilers Quantico Season 2 (or Quan2co) Discussion Thread

Quantico Season 2 started last night with Alex and Booth now working at the CIA training facility The Farm in the present, while in the future we see them dealing with a hostage situation during a G20 summit.
Overall I was pretty happy with the premiere. I was pleasantly surprised when they revealed they were still working to get into the FBI, I was a little annoyed they were starting over with the CIA.
Most of the new CIA characters seem pretty interesting. I'm a Being Human fan, so I got a big kick out of seeing Russell Tovey.
I've never been a big fan of the whole thing with using the number for a show/movie in place of letters in the title, so the whole Quan2co thing just made me roll my eyes.
The 2 reveals with Lydia caught me by surprise, although looking at Wikipedia I see she's just a guest star, while her father is a regular, so now I have to wonder how long she'll last.
I started to get annoyed when Alex thought something was still going on and the others didn't believe her during the flashforward, but I'm hoping the fact that they moved past that pretty quickly into the actual attack will mean that won't take up to much of the season.
So far the big mysteries seem pretty interesting, with some interesting new characters at the Farm, and a good future story.

I actually like the Quan2co name...too bad there is a 2year dead Twitter account with that name...it would be easy marketing

I thought I saw Lydia in the hostage crowd in the end and/or previews.

I wasn't sure if they were a couple (she seems like she can play older, and Blair Underwood younger), but this will be an interesting relationship. Hopefully that means that's one less sexual encounter a week.

I'm not sure if I will care about Ryan and Alex romancing...seems like a lame "will they get caught kissing" every week.

As for people believing Alex...she only thought this in a few minutes, so not enough time to "prove" anything...and then the phone linea down doesn't help.

(Could landlines work?)

Other than Raina, any other former Quantico classmates there?

And what will season 3 be about? A l ex and Ryan as teachers? Or a flashforward 25 years to her daughter's training at Quantico?

This season already shows more potential. It's a step in the right direction.

Alex and Ryan can continue to go on missions for season after season, but we need to cut the will they, won't they romance. I don't care if they are together, but I'm done with the teenage stuff.

This season, the question isn't if they will or won't... it's if the CIA mole (or moles) will find out and then hold it against them

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I remember seeing her there.

Yeah, the father/daughter relationship is definitely a more interesting one than just them being another couple. I'm curious what their history is like since being a CIA agent doesn't tend to mix well with a family life. I also liked how casual the reveal was.

I guess she didn't necessarily prove the "dead" guy wasn't dead, but at least they'll know something is going on.

I'm assuming they'll just be going on different missions each season. After two seasons of them in training facilities I'd like to think they'll find something different for Season 3.

Ok...hope there's a lot of misdirection with Miranda, but that the Farm directors are who they actually seem to be (though I suspect one will find the traitors but pay the price)

The last episode was by far the best of this season by far, but it still felt like horrible writing for its lead, Alex Parrish. She continues to be a whiny brat, always looking for the high road and only succeeding because the writers made fate somehow go her way.

I understand where this show wants to go and the time shifting premise has worked for me so far, but it still feels to high school creative writing class. The writing is nowhere near other dramas out there today.

I am addicted, just to see where it goes, like what is up with Miranda? Is she REALLY another turncoat like Liam (which still seemed like a last minute tist rather than planned from the get go)?

...but a lot of lame stuff, like all the sex, now throwing in the stereotypical religious-prude-but-really-sexually-"repressed".

So is like Raina and her sister the only characters who haven't had sex (on screen)?

Also, I think I missed last week because it didn't show up on On Demand (from Comcast) all week. Did I miss any special revelation? (other than who had sex with who)

Sebastien jumped on Harry for a ten second kiss before running off, Owen's daughter thinks he's weak, future (or current) Alex was captured and then sprung.

We have no indication of why Miranda is suddenly evil and that makes me angry. I really hope that they have planned this out, but knowing this writing staff, they probably haven't and she will probably be nothing more than a moustache twirling villain at the end of the season.

I agree...I mean she lost her son but got deputy director of the FBI only to turn into another Liam?

Will she be the real head of the AIC???

So I am confused... the fall finale leaving us with mysteries we presumably will care about until January

1) What's the mysterious coded note Harry gave to his.. handler? And he's not gay? Or hetero for a cover?
2) Ryan is deep undercover, or one of them?
3) The reporter & lawyer are the AIC recruits?
4) So what's up with Miranda again?
5) Is that real with Raina, or a cover? (Working with Ryan?)

I think this move to Monday night is lining this show up to be cancelled. It needs to pull a rabbit out of its hat and fix this dreadful writing. I've said a million times that Alex Parrish, as she currently written, is one of the worst written television leads of all time.

well...it's the whole thing, really.... just about every character has had sex with each other, over-the-top terrorism, and lots of coincidences where were people at a training camp all meet up a few months later

And more government traitors per season than 24 (which average about 1 or 2 a season)

I do appreciate the lead is totally not a white male, though

So no one has watched since December 1? WOw -- no one cares, huh?

OK, so apparently I missed an episode, and they captured Miranda & Raina... and after making Miranda the first black female head of the FBI , turns out to be pretty incompetant, and is not blamed for her role in the terrorism deaths due to government cover up. ..and that's OK. Oh, and the Islamic Front takes the blame. No perpetuating of Islamophobia there.

(I am re-watching this finale, as I was switching with Talking Dead, which was more interesting and more realistic)

And the stuff with Sebastian & Harry -- holy heavy handedness, Batman! They not just make it that Sebastian is a self-hating gay man, but to "confirm" it, his wife is a terrorist that used him. Absolutely no room for "questioning" to have the "not right" answer.

And we end with Alex being part of team that is ONLY comprised of her FBI & CIA classmates... NO ONE with SIGNIFICANT field experience (other than Alex's lover). Yeah, OK... they really have no idea where to go with Quantico.

Yeah, I think all the characters are generally badly written..though I appreciate they have a non-white , non-American lead. SO good actress, just bad vehicle.

Harry is another character that has a great actor, but is given horrible, dreadful dialogue. Ryan, too. Why does his world have to revolve around Alex? And what a waste of Blair Underwood.

THANK YOU for replying -- was getting worried no one else watched.

Yeah, this show is like Gotham -- great actors in great roles, but the story is not working for them.

So I kinda missed it -- any possibility of Blair Underwood being used for something , should there be a next season? I think he was useful in the teaching flashbacks -- it's really Miranda who was wasted / character assassinated

A mass ensemble cast is fine and I thought a lot of the newcomers this year were better than Season 1, but the writing, god I just can't get past it. Can Alex be wrong once? Or can someone believe in her once? Miranda's justifications were just as bad as Liam's in Season 1. The all of a sudden "I'm a bad guy." This series is written like a Steven Segall 80's action movie. No plot, just "oh my God, we need to get here and stop whomever from doing whatever" followed by pointless action scene.:brickwall:

I guess I shouldn't hope for much more because the creator is known for Gossip Girl and Smash and you know those two were such excellent television.
