Quantel to buy Final Cut from Apple

Ok, I haven't been able to find any links yet, and this may still be hush hush, but three different people have notified me about this today and all have strong links with Quantel.

Hopefully it comes to pass. Quantel have been wanting to get into offline/production work so this would be an excellent spring board for them. Plus Apple seem to have lost interest in the Pro market (a rumour out yesterday claimed there is a 15" slim notebook being worked on which may spell the end of the Macbook Pro line).

Not to mention us Pro users would like a fully functional Final Cut Pro X.

I'm bummed they took a great editing platform and completely dumbed it down. If Quantel were to buy it it would only get better.

Good rumors have a thread of truth that makes them feel right or at least make some tiny bit of sense.

This one has nothing going for it. It's just nonsensical.
