http://www.thetrekcollective.com/ So they are finally bringing Q into this new timeline. I figured it was a matter of time.
Just for reference, here is the direct link to the article: http://www.thetrekcollective.com/2014/04/q-drops-in-on-nutrek-and-other-comics.html Depending on when someone reads this thread the article might be somewhere far down if they follow the overall link to the collective.
But an omnipotent being that is practically immortal will have more than enough time to aggravate multiple Starfleet captains across multiple timelines.
That's what they said in the article, though not in as many words. At least, that's the conceit of this particular comics story.
I think this sounds great. I don't see a problem with Q being able to skip between realities. And I can't wait to see how the crew reacts to him, particularly Spock.
Not quite sure what to make of this. Have there ever been any stories with the Prime Universe Kirk and crew running into Q?
IDW does seem to like Q. He was the major villain in Star Trek/Legion of Super-Heroes. So, yeah, JD, I know of at least one story in which Q faces off with the TOS crew. It does kind of seems "Angry original Trek-fan" bait-y. "Watch Q validate our spin-off universe."
Peter David's Q-Squared made Trelane a Q (and in fact Spoiler: Q-Squared Q's son ), thus indirectly bringing the Continuum to TOS. I wouldn't be surprised if this is IDW's version of "Squire of Gothos", only with Trelane swapped out for the far-better-known Q (knowing IDW, they'll have Q and Trelane turn out to be one and the same person anyway)
Actually Q was basically the magufin the villain used to take over. Vandal Savage/Flint was the villain.
