Q and the universes

I'm a new member here, so this may have been asked, but I haven't been able to it. Do you guys and girls think that there is a Q for the original timeline and a different Q for the reboot timeline or is there just 1 Q travel who can travel between the two realities?

Q seemed adept at showing off alternative realities, so I'd vote for one Q continuum across the entire multiverse. Of course, it could be argued that Q never did anything more than induce hallucinations or project complicated virtual worlds.

Nah, it's still John DeLancie. Here's a leaked portion of the upcoming miviue script:

INT. ENTERPRISE BRIDGE
There is a flash of light and Q appears, dressed in a TOS captain's uniform. He looks around for a moment, and then frowns.

Q: This doesn't seem right.

There is another flash of light as Q disappears.

Well if Q doesn't exist in the Nureality I wouldn't worry to much about it. We still have 25 letters left.

IIRC, the old novel "Q-Squared" had Q and Trelane able to easily squeeze between realities, and there were duplicates of them in each. One of the Trelane's was dangeously insane and tried to merge/destroy the multiverse, or something.

Since Q is immortal, Q presumably existed in the Prime universe in 2233.

Thus he exists in the Abramsverse.

Come to think of it, Q's old buddy Guinan was able to sense a reality time shift, so I imagine it wouldn't be a problem for Q, who was teleporting throughout time in TNG final episode. If Q and Guinan can sense this kinda thing maybe others can too.

If NuQ (who may be an even bigger jerk) met OldQ how would he handle it I wonder. Maybe he'd insist NuKirk is cooler than Picard.

What would be awesome (in my not so humble opinion) is if the last of Abrams' Trek movies ended with exactly what you wrote plus one minor addition. After Q disappears from the bridge, the ship, now restored to its proper configuration, sails off into a sunset, Star Trek VI style.

I'd give that scene a standing ovation.

Those weren't duplicates of Q and Trelane, they were the same ones.

^If they were the same, then every Trelane would have been insane, nor would they have attempted to fight off insane Trelane's attacks. They were independant entities, just like the Picards and Datas of the various "time tracks"

The implication is that there is no "every" Trelane or Q, there is only one of each. Apparently this is standard for all Q.
