Okay, now I'm intrigued, but not in the way you might think. That thing on Q's head looked awfully familiar to me, then I noticed that the lower piece looks exactly like a uniform decoration, seen over 15 years later in its entirety, on NuBattlestar Galactica uniforms (seen at the bottom):
The triangular thing looks like something out of Dark Crystal.
