Bzzzzzzzzz

Chuck goes undercover as a "Bee Girl" to solve a murder, and Lily gets Olive to a nunnery.

Official Website for Pushing Daisies

Can you smell the goodness? Is your mouth watering? Are my fellow “Pie-Makers” as excited as I am? I hope so because the adorable Ned, ethereal Chuck, irascible Emerson, whimsical Olive and brooding Aunts are finally back! The new television season just got a whole lot sweeter... is it becoming clear yet how much I love this show? Let’s just say I have been “touched” by it. But enough of my dreadfully bad puns and manic pie inspired verbiage, let’s discuss!

I watched this last night (yay Canada!), and I've got to say I didn't realize how much I missed this show until it came back.

Is your mouth watering?
Most definitely! :bolian: This hiatus has been very un-a-PIE-ling.

Beat that for awful.

I would have just said I was glad the pie-atus was over. :p

Definitely looking forward to this. I rewatched Season 1 last week and while I still think it kind of sagged in the middle, the start and end of the season were both great, and I'm excited to see where they take it this year. I just hope it brings in the viewers to keep it alive...

Not enough Emerson. And Kristin Chenoweth had better sing something while she's in the nunnery!

Above average.

Hm. Average. I agree with not enough Emerson. And I couldn't bring myself to care about the bee case at all. The Olive stuff was easily the best part of the show. Hope it picks up a bit next week!

I definitely agree on the need for more Emerson and Olive singing. :D

That being said, I'm confused. Did I miss something or didn't the last episode we saw end with Chuck finding out that Ned caused her father's death and left? They acted in this episode as if none of that happened.

No, that was the third or second to the last episode. It was resolved before the end of the season. The bombshell at the end of the last episode was Lily's secret.

This episode seemed a little off, but I'm going to assume that's just-coming-back-from-a-long-hiatus-itis and they just need to get back into the swing of things. It wasn't a bad episode by any stretch, but not one of the better ones either.

Oh, that's right. I must have mashed those two episodes together in my head because I thought both of those were the season cliffhanger. Stupid memory cells. :o

I'm really curious about what Vivian read that lead to Lily's comment in one of the early episodes of season one now, though (oh you know, about reading other people's mail). After seeing last episode, I was convinced it was Lily's pregnancy test or something. But Vivian apparently doesn't know about that, so now I'm back to being boggled.

"Hey, you can't put that image in my head. That's an insult on my mind!"

And Ana needs to be shown in a bodice/teddy more often in this show.

^ Well in that case... I want more Ned in his boxers. I was breathless for the first five minutes. Wow!

I gave this one an above average. If I wasn't such a total "Pie-Maker" I would have slapped it with an average though. My complaint: everything felt a little rushed. Instead of relishing the fact that these characters were back, we were treated to a information marathon. In the end it was trying so hard to be an opening and a clever case that the two were fighting each other.

But I don't care. Ned and Chuck had some excellent moments. I was also god-smacked that Lily and Vivian left the house and were in the Pie Hole! Of course I wanted more Olive and Emerson but there is never enough of them. And the costumes, especially the nun outfits, were simply amazing. Who knew that the man who was the go-to guy for Starfleet Uniforms for more than a decade could make such amazingly fun wardrobe!

The episode felt like an odd mess to me, just didn't have the PD feel to it at all. I felt like I was watching a rerun or something.

I'm hoping next week's is better, and with clowns it should be. :)

I gave this episode an excellent...mainly because of the DEAD LIKE ME reference!

Yes, HAPPY TIME from Dead Like Me was mentioned today! Awesome! :)

Other stuff I liked:

I'm not a fan of the Sound of Music, but I thought that was funny. hehe.

Pigby! lol!

The aunts finally got of the house AND visited the Pie Hole! hehe.

Bzzzz. hehe.

Lil' Gumshoe. ha!

Emerson always has the best lines!

Next week looks scary! Clowns. :scream: lol.

Oh and I was confused too. I thought the last episode of the season was the one where Chuck left too. Hmmm. I can barely remember that other episode....did I miss it? Hmmm....

Anyway...Dead Like Me reference!!! And I hear there's another reference to some other Fuller show coming too....

Wasn't Mother Superior Diana Scarwid? Diana Scarwid as in Caroline Dhavernas' sister in Wonderfalls?

^Yep, that was her.

Dang, how could I miss the Happy Time reference!

My favorite lines:
Chuck to Ned: You're here to keep an eye on me. How romantic!
Emerson: He's stalking you.

Emerson: Yeah, and I'm a double scoop of Oreo, now shut the Fudge up!

I also missed the Happy Time thing, are you sure you didn't heard something else?

And I did notice the mom, it's the mom not the sister, from Wonderfalls, I just finished that show for the third time the other day.
