Last night I come up from the workshop and there is WOB on the sofa sprawled out reading a book... Blind Man's Bluff. Its about submarines and the cold war and crazy things we did to prove that our collective penis was bigger than the Soviet's collective penis.

More or less.

She started asking questions about the USS Scorpion and the torpedo accident that may or may not have sank the boat. She wanted to know more about how they would test such a device and I explained it best I can... and I told her that it was the responsibility of the Operational Maneuver Group Weapons Testing Facility Bureau of Basic Quality (OMGWTFBBQ) to test such devices.

She believed me.


Just got an email from her "There is no Operational Maneuver Group Weapons Testing Facility Bureau of Basic Quality you ass."

I have a knack for generating and decoding acronyms on the fly. First time I've been able to generate an entire military unit on the fly like that.

I went down to the military hobby shop/bookstore two towns over to find more information on torpedoes and testing and armed with what HE told me (Operational group bullshit) I talked to the clerk, who actually went in back and came out and wrote OMGWTFBBQ on the slip and apologized. So not only did he get me he got the clerk as well!


Payback will be epic, on a grand scale. I'm limburger-cheese in the car on the hottest day of the year scale.

It doesn't actually mean anything other than barbeque. It indicates insane typing of capital letter acronyms. Bit like the way people write !!!11111 - to show that they've gone crazy on the keyboard and are no longer typing the exclamation marks properly.

Sorry for the bump, but this has been bugging me all week (welcome to my world)...I'm still wondering how the term "OMGWTFBBQ" could come into practical use. Unless you open your front door and there's a bag full of sandwiches or something.
