PS3 Update Problem

I bought Batman : AA and the PS3 'asked' for an update before it could play it. I updated (2.80) and now it won't play or acknowledge games or movies. The Sony phone rep was less than helpful, and paying 149 for something that may have some other flaw has no appeal. Any help would be appreciated, if there's any hope here at all.

You might wait for 3.0 to come out and see if it does anything?

Isn't there an option to reset it to factory settings? Although, I don't know how much stuff you'd lose doing that...

I don't think that will revert the firmware though... but to be honest, I have no idea.

Yeah resetting to factory settings won't reset the firmware.

How did you update it, did the update come from the net or from the game, are you saying you updated too 2.80 or update from 2.80, the latest firmware out at present is 2.90.

I have to check my Best Buy receipt. I may have an extended, or maybe I'll break down and get the slim model.
