Ps3 iplayer now HD

Just a heads up for brits using the iplayer on the PS3, it's now being updated and HD content is available. There isn't very much at the moment but it means that stuff like Torchwood and Doctor Who will be available to view this way.

I'm so pissed that I can't access BBC iPlayer content with my UK PSN account because of my German IP adress.

I'm not pissed enough to set up a proxy connection though

Interesting, i have had a fiddle about with it and it seems its no longer just a browser short cut.....seems it's a fully fledged app......and you have to go into settings and pick HD quality as it seems to be on SD by default, and you have to sign into the PSN and fire up the old Iplayer link icon before the new one will download and install.......oh and if your wondering how you quit it you have to hold the PS3 button down for 2 seconds and press quit.

I watch HD stuff on there all the time already, it was just hard to find before because they didn't have a label for HD content on the bigscreen site so you had to guess which version of each programme was the HD one.

As I can't be bothered with PSN, I guess I'll be stuck with the browser version anyway.

I have to wonder when this new version will come to Freesat as it's supposed to be all versions of iPlayer on the TV that are getting this update.

Is the international iPlayer released yet? I know it's been announced and is starting in Europe first but seems to be an iPad only app.
